Cavs made offer for Aldridge

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Cavs make offer for Aldridge

Reading the article LA seemed to have been a bit irritated by the interviewer because he kept on asking about the things he's done (not getting sponsors, renewing commitments, etc) which prompted the "That's why I hate Portland" statement. However, it is still not something that a star player on a team should say out loud IMO. If you read the comments from Portland fans they are blaming the interviewer (media) more than LA. Wow, that's messed up.

Re: Cavs make offer for Aldridge

Those kind of statements make me fear that we would only have him through the rest of his contract (2 years). If he thinks Portland is "too small" then he certainly won't like Cleveland and there won't be a shortage of suitors for him in FA. Makes me rethink sending out so many young assets with potential.

Re: Cavs make offer for Aldridge

^^ winning means more than market size for endorsement deals.

Re: Cavs make offer for Aldridge

I've changed my mind. God please let it be Tristan + Bennett for Aldridge.

[h=2]Blazers Open to Trading LaMarcus Aldridge?[/h]July 18, 2013
The camp for Portland Trail Blazers All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge arranged a meeting with general manger Neil Olshey in a Las Vegas hotel lobby on Sunday to suggest several trade scenarios, a league source informed CSNNW.com.
According to the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the situation, the meeting was described as being productive with both sides focused on doing what’s best for both parties.
Aldridge, 27, has two years and roughly $30 million remaining on his current contract and I’m told Olshey is in no rush to facilitate a deal at the urging of a player’s camp, especially if the organization isn’t getting equal value in return.
Trading Aldridge for a collection of draft picks will not be an option.

A front court of Bynum, Aldridge, and Earl Clark would be pretty nasty. Lot's of defense combined with 3 players who all have a solid mid-range jumpshot. That's a ton of length too.

With that being said, I just don't see the Cavs being able to aford it at this point unless they're pulling out of the LeBron sweepstakes.

I would assume guys that are already counted into next years cap would be used to obtain LMA assuming a package can be worked out. I don't see how this would financially affect the Lebron pursuit. I would think a package of Andy and Tristan or Bennett would be the start of the discussions with more added to obtain LMA. The salaries would have to wash out since we no longer have cap room currently.

We are so brain washed into thinking all deals the Cavs make have to be cap saving deals for the other team. Portland would not want a strict cap saving deal, they want as the article says, a deal that brings in legit talent now.

You can trade AV and not opt into Bynums option, you can still offer lebron a contract.

But I don't want to base the future off of Lebron. If you have a chance to get Aldridge you take it.

Kyrie, Deng and Albridge would be really nice.

Re: Cavs make offer for Aldridge

Who moves all 3 for Aldridge? Were he under contract for more than two years, id very much comsider it. Right now, id be willing to move two of the three young guys. I assume Varejao gets dealt in any of these trade scenarios. Also, I assume Waiters has to be one of the two unless a team wants two power forwards.

Re: Cavs make offer for Aldridge

I don't see how we can land LMA without giving up one of Bennett or Thompson, in addition to Waiters and possibly a future pick. That being said, I would not be complain, especially if Karasev can give us anything in year one.

Irving/Jack
Miles?.../Karasev
Clarke/Gee
LMA/Bennett or Thompson
Bynum/Zeller

Re: Cavs make offer for Aldridge

Thompson, Andy and a 1 or 2 of the shitty #1s we own and I'm game

Posted this in the Radio thread, thought I would put it here for relevance.

To be completely honest, I say we wait and see how the new look Wolves play before we use up our assets. I just have a feeling we need to be prepared for the eventual availability of Kevin Love.

LMA is good, but I think Love can be a lot better.

I'd rather give up Bennett than Thompson, plus Andy, along with somebody like Gee and then the SAC pick or something like that.

wholeheartedly agree AMC, if Minny is out of the playoff race come trade deadline time , perfect time to swoop him up
