I wouldn't know the guy exists if people weren't quoting and engaging him. I have to view ignored posts to scroll back and see what everyone is arguing about.

I believe the ignore feature should be used so that individual posters can ignore particular people who get under their skin, but with whom others have no problem. I've got two people on ignore because for whatever reason, I can't seem to have a decent conversation with them. But plenty of others do, so the solution is for me to ignore, and for those others to engage. In other words, I use ignore when the problem is me, not them.

I don't think the ignore feature should be used as essentially a moderation tool to sideline someone who virtually nobody likes. When you have someone like that, I think the solution is to get rid of them. Because inevitably, some posters won't have the guy on ignore, and so you get thread derailment or ridiculous conversations.

If someone wants to step up and make a case for why @CSF is not a negative contributor to the site, that's fine. Otherwise...why not just flush the turd away rather than just keep spraying air freshener and let the thing stink indefinitely?

Your basketball takes are always terrible, but this statement is enlightening because it explains at least part of the reason why your takes are so terrible. It's that you only see one side of the floor - the offensive side. You ignore defense.

I could see someone making an argument (whether it would be correct is a different question) that Hood and/or Clarkson have better one-on-one offensive skills than does Cedi. But defensively, they're terrible. Clarkson tries, although against Cedi, he would have a major size disadvantage. But Hood doesn't even do that. He also abhors contact of any kind, on either end of the court, and a physical defender like Cedi would annoy the hell out of him. When it comes to guarding Cedi, Hood would be helpless. Not because Cedi is unguardable, but because Hood is so terrible defensively.

In any case, it's pretty clear you're just trolling the forum. Hopefully, the mods pick up on it soon and give you the permanent vacation you so richly deserve.
Really doesn’t matter to me if you think I’m trolling or not. I believe Hood 1v1 could guard Cedi just fine. The same for Clarkson. I believe Hoods issues last season was adjusting to a new system and not finding his place on the team with lack of practice etc. In the future if you disagree with my take either just click disagree and move on. The childish name calling and slander is 2nd grade sticks n stones

Why do you think he will have a very short shelf life?
Combination of the years playing hard in Europe and the Grady Sizemore effect . Clearly I’m not comparing skill level as Grady was a premier all star but I do see Cedi playing with the same type of intensity. I can see him fizzling the same Delly has .

No. I'll call you out for trolling in the future as well.

And Hood has been a crappy, negative defender his entire career - long before he came to the Cavs.

I do believe he’s athletic enough to become average and handle Cedi 1 v 1.

Not calling out you in particular, but the "he's athletic enough to become average" line is so overused. Probably 95% of NBA players are athletic enough to become average...but somehow, a full 50% are below average. As is the case for most bad defenders, it's not athleticism holding Hood back.

And that's the last time I'll say his name in the Cedi thread :chuckle:

Regarding Cedi vs Hood benefits, I think Cedi will be much better eventually if not this season. Cedi is probably smarter, a faster learner, more dedicated to improving, less scared. I think Cedi had a keen eye on LBJ and will gain from it.

I’m afraid Cedi’s career will have a very short shelf life ala Delly. I fully believe it’s best to trade him when he’s reached his max value. High level of play + team control.

With Preston

Cedi looks big.

Now, the problem I see is that he is at UCLA. Should we be worried at this point? Should we sound the alarms? just asking.
