Championship Parade/Rally

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
To me, that's silly. THIS is the team that broke the curse. Fuck the Browns.

I'm with you. I love the Browns too, but this is the Cavs moment because they broke the Curse, and I think the added element of having a hometown guy leading the way is something that just can't be replicated.

I work next to the Q on Huron. Bringing my daughter to work with me tomorrow so we can see this event together. Getting a little nervous about my normal monthly spot being available at Gateway garage at 8am. I have no answers for anyone visiting as far as parking other than highly suggesting using RTA. My daily commute on a normal day has been a mess with all the construction going on for the RNC. I think tomorrow will be insane.

Is there any word out about a starting time? and is there any Video Feed we living in Europe could watch?

It should be all over ESPN or NBA network if you get those channels if not then Fox 8 News, Channel 5 Cleveland, WKYC should all have it on their site

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The parade celebrating the Cleveland Cavaliers' NBA Championship title and historic victory over the Golden State Warriors will begin Wednesday at 11 a.m. outside Quicken Loans Arena, City Council President Kevin Kelley said.

Kelley said that when he was last updated Monday night, he was told that the parade will wind through downtown, with a primary route on East 9th Street. It will conclude on St. Clair Avenue between Malls B and C, where a special program is planned to honor the Cavs, Kelley said.

Workers appeared to be assembling a stage at the location Tuesday morning.

The city is expected to release more specific details shortly.

The Cavs defeated the Golden State Warriors, 93-89, in Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday, ending the city's championship drought that had lasted 52 years.

Been trying to hunt down vendor permits, Safety assignments, etc. Leila got more than I did. Some sauces I have. :chuckle:

You really mean to tell me you are not driving in for this Championship parade? C'mon now!

There's going to be close to a million people.
There are over 3 million in the surrounding area (including Akron). 2 million alone in the surrounding 5 counties.
Almost everyone I know is going. And it sounds like a lot of others are coming from out of town.

The traffic will be locked up for hours. Do not drive. If you plan on taking the rapid it will take hours to get in or out. Sunday night was a 2 hour wait to get back to the airport RTA and that was probably only 100,000 people.

We're now thinking about parking around W. 25th, grabbing brunch and walking across the bridge to downtown. Probably a two mile walk, but there's not many other options.

It's going to be great!

I hope they let you park there. I park there sometimes as well, but normally across the street in the open lot. My friend has a monthly pass where you normally park, and she hasn't heard anything. But they're notorious for not letting you park there...

I took tomorrow off, can't wait.

I'm coming in from I-71, I live down near Ashland. My plan A is to reserve some airport parking and take the RTA from Hopkins to downtown. Does anyone have any better suggestions or ideas?
