Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dorsey will listen to offers for the #1 pick. What does this say about our QB situation?

Literally nothing.

The "all options on the table" and "not ruling anything out" cliches have been around for the last decade or so.

Its all garbage.

Quite possibly.

Or maybe it means we're throwing $120 million at Cousins :celb (15):

I really think Darnold is gonna be the guy, but I'm fine with Darnold or Rosen. Are all the Rosen fans which seems to be most of the board going to act like they did in 2014, if Dorsey selects Darnold? Not looking forward to that, if so.

Remind me what 2014 was again...

Manziel was egregiously unqualified to play QB in the NFL, many people on here knew it.

Others got upset that he wasn't getting a fair shake before bottoming out, flying to Vegas and abandoning his responsibilities and drinking himself out of the league in two years.

Something like that, I'd imagine.

I don't even understand what this means. You think fans were wrong for shitting on the Johnny Manziel pick? The fuck?

Doubt it. The closest comparison I could make to taking Johnny at #22 in 2014 would be...taking Josh Allen at #1?

Honestly there's really no comparison to blowing a 1st rounder on Johnny Manziel when anyone with half a brain knew he didn't have near the ability for it.

Darnold would go #1 in a large number of drafts. I think Rosen fans will be disappointed but not suicidal like 2014.

I don't think it would be on the same scale as Manziel.

Darnold is a fine prospect, but I feel at least, that it is something of gamble to take a guy with issues with fundamentals, and has to spend time learning just to catch up with Rosen.

To me it just seems like an unnecessary risk to take Darnold when the better QB is right there, can start from Day One if necessary, and though there is no such thing as a sure-fire choice, is the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck.

I won't riot, but I will be very upset if my fears are confirmed down the road because picking the wrong QB with the #1 pick would definitely set the franchise back years.

It isn't that hard to get...I'm asking if people are going to make the board hard to read if the Browns don't take their choice of QB.

Let's be honest, Rosen has his own risks associated with him though. We can say, "If [insert risks and concerns here] comes true down the line, I will be very upset.." with either prospect.

I'll still be hyped for either one. Which is why I'm sure they're taking Baker.

I agree with @chrisrich91 . I'd be very disappointed if we took Darnold over Rosen but I wouldn't be bringing out the pitchforks like with truly awful picks this franchise has made...

I'm not sure people freaked in 2014 because we didn't take the QB they wanted, but because it was Manziel.

We could have taken literally any other highly graded QB in that draft and I think most would have tolerated it. I was on the Bridgewater train, but I would have been perfectly fine if we ended up with Bortles, Carr, or Garoppolo. But, we got Manziel instead.
