Cleveland Cavaliers Summer League 2019

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

SLC roster.

Includes Garland
You bet your sweet ass it does.

And, completely guessed Muhammad-Ali Abbur-Rahkman and JaCorey Williams correctly from the D-League squad.

I added the roster to the original post--definitely some interesting names on there. This should be a very good summer league team.

With 16 players, I do wonder if Garland is actually getting any or much burn.

We got Yovel Zoosman? Thats a good get.
Sure, is. With only a few teams in action, easier to grab guys like this for the Salt Lake City league.

For those wondering, 6'7 shooting guard. Played for Maccabi Tel Aviv--FIBA Europe U-20 Championship MVP last year. Koby and the Cavaliers scouting department are very active overseas stemming from Koby's roots with USA basketball.

I hope he ends up being our 2nd 2 Way deal. I think outside of the trio of Garland, Windler, KPJ he has the highest upside of the Undrafted/Gleague players on our SL team. I also think his skill set meshes well with what Beilein does.

I think these players see the Cavs as a team committed to development and playing young guys.

Even with three guaranteed contracts with our 1st rounders, our two-way players might get some real NBA burn. Those spots are sought after on this team.

I agree. Also real chance of us converting one or two in buyout season. Odds our we will buy one or two players out if we can't flip their expiring at the deadline. I just hope we bring Zoosman aboard if he does well in the SL. I know he has a 4 year offer back home in Israel though.

He looks cool. Maybe we can trade Clarkson into Cap space or something. Is he gonna stay on our team for a 2 way?

Wow, didn't realize Zoosman went undrafted. I had him #46 on my big board. Wasn't a fan of the Cavs' draft, but they're doing a great job picking guys for summer league IMO.

Looks like sort of an all around player like Osman. What do you like about him?

Yeah, he's sort of similar to Osman. Can compare their per-40 Euroleague stats at age 20 directly:

Osman: 15.8 points (53.5% true shooting), 6.2 boards, 1.5 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.2 blocks, 1.7 turnovers

Zoosman: 8.2 points (57.1% true shooting), 5.4 boards, 3.2 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.6 blocks, 2.1 turnovers

Osman much more prolific getting his own shot, while Zoosman was a substantially better passer. Both quality defenders, but nothing special. Cavs could use guys who can pass, defend, and make open 3's, and Zoosman certainly fits that description. Would be a very sensible backcourt partner for Sexton or Garland.

Or Porter Jr off the bench. It does look like they are making sure to get Beilein guys that will work in his system.

I found it interesting on the SL roster both Porter Jr. and Windler were listed as Forwards. I wonder if they plan on using Windler as a SF and PF as opposed to SF and SG. The NBA is getting smaller and I am sure Beilein wants a sniper at PF when Love is off the court.
