Walk me through what we got from the players we traded him for.
I'm by no means saying it was a home-run deal but you do not know what would have happened if we didn't trade him, and you do not know what other offers were on the table, if any. In an ideal world, LeBron was actually a good leader for our organization and worked shit out with Kyrie. That didn't happen.
Crowder would have been a perfect fit on our roster if he could get over the rivalry BS. He also struggled due to going from a good offensive system, to no offensive system. But he was a good defender who shot 40% from three with a high number of attempts.
And again, that pick was projected a lot better than #8. Do a Google search and you will find that most people graded the trade as an A or B+ for the Cavs. If the pick landed even in the top five I'm sure you would feel differently.
Look at what Minnesota got for Jimmy Butler, another superstar who demanded a trade (thus killing leverage). Two average rotation players and a second round pick.
Anyways this is the Collin Sexton thread so I'm willing to bet that a lot of this discussion will get deleted/moved but you are really taking advantage of 20/20 hindsight and making some assumptions that favor your opinions.
