Danny Green: Long Time, No See

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wish the best to Danny, seemed like a good guy, but hopefully he'll take a lesson from Parker and figure out somewhere he can go, develop his game, and work his way towards something bigger and better than bench cheerleader. It actually would be cool if we could convince him to go to Erie and keep the faith like Jawad did, but I'm sure his agent will do due diligence first.

Ok, funny drunken fantasy.

Manny Harris, former Michigan HS player of the year, scUM star, becomes the superstar the Cavs wanted all along. He becomes a stud scorer that leads us to a championship.

I mean, what the fuck. The Ohio boy couldn't get it done, but the Michigan boy ends up doing it all for us? That's what you call a mindfuck.

Exactly!! Waste of a draft pick.

Errrr....No. Unless you're picking somewhere in the top 5-10 of the second round and able to pick up a guy who slid out of the first, second round picks aren't wastes. You try things, sometimes it works. I imagine someone's done the real numbers, but I would guess maybe 10-20% of 2nd round picks have several productive years in the NBA.

There were plenty of productive second rounders taken just before Danny, but not much after - including 10 guys who've yet to record a minute in the league because they're international players or never got the chance.

But before Danny, there was Chase Budinger, Marcus Thornton, Jonas Jerebko, DeJuan Blair, and Sam Young. We barely missed having a chance to take Budinger or Thornton.

A lot of people around here have been spoiled by 2nd round heists like Boozer & Andy. Even Boobie (or Booby? I'm still confused) was a 2nd rounder. But guys like that really are the exception to the rule.

Should have never signed Joey Graham. Waste of money and a waste of a roster spot.
Danny Green should still be on the team.

Some team will pick him up quickly. Danny has nothing to worry about, his jumper can keep him in the game.

Jumper? I must have missed it. Green has always been overrated by some on this board. He'll go play in Europe and be a fine player there for the next 10 years. He doesn't have 1 nba skill.

Speaking of the draft... I really think Luke Babbitt is what Luke Jackson was supposed to be....

Damn the Blazers...

Boozer and Gibson were typical 2nd round value guys who could have gone in the 1st round but slipped for various reasons. Interestingly the only two guys taken after Boobie who've made an impact in the NBA are both Cavs as well (Powe, and Hollins). Andy, btw, was the first pick of the second round and was taken after a run of talent including Delonte, Tony Allen, Kevin Martin, Sasha Vujacic, Beno Udrih and unfortunately for Indiana - David Harrison. In a weaker draft he would have gone in the 1st round as well.

Thanks for proving my point that they were in fact all 2nd round picks that ended up on the Cavs. Which in turn causes some here to think that 2nd round steals are the norm.

this is a bit surprising...thought Green would be a nice steal when they took him in the 2nd rd but I guess the hope is Manny Harris turns into an even bigger steal as an undrafted free agent

It's about time. Small, weak, unskilled...

I don't care if he's a "good guy" or if he played well in college, we're trying to win games.
