I didn't watch the game, but it seems like in previous games he only played one side of the field. That could be a factor or gruden schemed away from him and went for whoever replaced Mitchell.

Ward is playing as one of the twenty best corners in the NFL, and he is a rookie.

Man, maybe I am overvaluing his play because I am such a big fan, but Ward just looks great. He already is closing off one part of the field. Imagine when he develops. This dude is scary.

ETA: It looked like Williams put a linebacker or safety in coverage next to Ward on short passing situations. This lets Ward do his thing without worrying about getting beat on short throws.

Ward is damn good. But the guy opposite him has to be able to hold down his assignments as well or the offense will target away from Ward and at the other side. Mitchell was doing good work before he got hurt. The Raiders immediately exploited his replacements. No halo can cover both sides of the field at once.

I thought Ward had a poor game today. I noticed him beat a lot. Sometimes it was due to the zone or prevent, but he didn't have a great game. That should clear up the bizarre accustaion that I am some OSU homer.

I believe John Brown caught one on a dig 20 yards down the field. Aside from that it seemed like he broke up a couple or the throws just had no chance.

A catch was made in front of him but the coverage was really soft — like 10 yards soft. Maybe I’m misremembering but I thought I recalled something caught by the sideline for 18 yards or something

Not the point; he was fucking fantastic and Baltimore has improved at skill. Secondary didn’t fuck around this afternoon. Those guys wanted it.
