Derrick Rose: Outta Here!

I've been incredibly impressed with Rose tonight. He looks amazing and surprisingly comfortable with the rest of our starters. He's also still quite fast, and I see glimpses of that star player he was a few years ago. The fact that we got this guy on a minimum contract is highway robbery...we're in great hands until IT comes back.

I think his impact on this team is going to be even greater than Wade's.
 
Rose is going to be great off the bench. Feel like him and TT will get a Delly TT vibe going.
 
I proposed to my girlfriend last Friday with a Beauty and the Beast rose.

Suddenly I feel as if I should've put a Cavs #1 jersey inside that glass dome instead.

Couldn't be more excited to watch his growth and contribution as the season unfolds.
 
Rose is fast as shit

With the tape we put out in the first I don’t think we have any excuse not to play fast and get in shape. We have enough bodies to sustain and 12 man rotation and we have talent. This may be the first year ever that we’re actually a passable team without LeBron.


I still think we had a shot VS GS if we didn’t freak around so much all last year. Last year we literally didn’t try until the playoffs then our dumbasses were surprised that we almost got swept. Personally I say we bring Rose and Wade off the bench to spell LeBron but I’m fsirly certain we will start Wade
 
Rose will start till IT is back at the very least.

But if Rose plays like an All-Star, I wouldn't be surprised if IT is the one who comes off the bench.

As for Wade, I think he will come off the bench in the Manu/Iggy kinda role. Still play lot of mins and would be in the line-ups to close the games.

I just don't see how IT fits this roster if Rose is healthy and playing this style.

I'd MUCH rather package him with Shump for draft picks or other compensation. Especially given that Cedi and Zizic will earn minutes in the rotation as well.

If we are able to get another all star talent that matches up well with the Warriors, I'd be okay trading IT. But trading IT and Shump for draft picks would be waving goodbye to LeBron.

Even if Rose plays spectularly, we need all the firepower we can get against the Warriors.

What good are draft picks to us in a year we're trying to win?

IT is a defensive liability against the Warriors but he's a better fit next to LeBron than Rose is. IT can pour in 30 ppg at optimum efficiency and play off-ball as a deadly outside shooter. Rose lives at the rim, which overlaps with both LeBron's and Wade's games.

Removing one also means weakening our bench, finally a position of strength after getting eviscerated by GS's bench in the Finals. And then you're also banking on Rose to be healthy for a full season with only Calderon to back him up.

IT can also lead a team and brings a lot of moxie and character to a team that desperately needs it.

IT was an MVP candidate and at this point in time a much better player than Rose. Trading him for draft picks would just be silly and basically a giant "Fuck you" to LeBron.

Everything you say needs to be taken with huge grain of salt. You wanted to keep Shumpert and not trade him for a 1st round pick when his value was at it's highest last season and now you want him gone at all costs.

IT is a good fit and if we don't get a decent replacement in return we make our bench and starting lineup much worse.

What? Are you unaware of the immense talent we have on this team?

Do you honestly think that 2 injured and over-valued combo guards are the key to keeping LBJ?

That is absurd.

If Wade and Rose stay healthy and play well, and play within their roles, then IT is not only expendable but potentially a big disruption to add into a well-oiled rotation in late January.

WHAT???

I was one of the ONLY people calling for trading Shumpert early last year. Everyone was drooling over his 3pt percentage, and I new it was fools gold.

Two years ago I thought it was worth keeping Shumpert, and it was the right thing to think so at the time.

If IT is gone you risk playing Wade and Rose more minutes than their body is able to handle.

Why are you putting IT and Shump like they are even remotely comparable in value to this team? IT offensively was special last season, give him a chance.
