Gordon Hayward Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I can't believe we are that interested in him. His signing would guarantee Waiters to be moved for a big, which is obvious. But giving that kind of cash to Hayward is something we'd laugh at another team for doing.

I wouldn't laugh if they were in the same situation as us, and it made sense. Two years ago, no way I'd throw max money at Hayward, but right now it would be a very good move for us.

Couldn't disagree more, but for what it's worth, the idea was pretty widely praised by most basketball writers and other people I follow on Twitter. Nobody was laughing.

Is 16 points a game now worth max or near max dollars?

Not if you're using PPG as your sole metric for determining value.

Thankfully teams don't do that. Low level analysis.

Unfortunately for Hayward, the rest of his stats or level of play don't warrant a max either.

I've posted enough in the Hayward discussions that show I disagree, so I won't rehash.

Long story short, I really like Dion and am totally fine with him at SG this year. But if you have a big trade target that he nets you, and Gordon Hayward is your replacement, then I am 100% cool with that, even at $14 million a year.

I'm not hating on the guy, it's just a massive overpay. Doesn't mean I wouldn't want him on my team, that is what free agency is about...overpaying people. That's why I said it's a fool's errand for the most part.

Just saying, a lot of people would laugh at the Cavs for giving Hayward a max.

I think we are interested in Hayward because we have a deal in place to move Dion+more for a big. Hayward and big in trade> Dion and big in FA. imo

Why would I want a safari on a shooting forward when I just drafted the next Lebron James in the draft by the name of Wiggins?

People are overreacting, he is a solid young player, I think he gives you more offensive versatility than Deng without being a complete scrub on defense. He is an all around type player (16-5-5) is very unselfish, young, and plays on both ends of the floor. I look at him like the yin to Andre Iguodalas yang. While iggy is an all around wing with alright offense and really good defense, Hayward is an all around wing with alright defense and really good offense and a little more height. Wouldn't offer him near the max but I would definitely consider him at a Deng or iggy price since he is younger and being Cleveland we pretty much always have to overpay to a certain extent.

So apparently he's a boss at SC2.

After watching this, I'm convinced we should sign him.
Question is does he noob rush lings?
