How did I do? (Fantasy Football Draft)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just did my fantasy draft through work.

12 team, PPR, non-keeper league through espn. QB; RB; RB; WR; WR; RB/WR; TE; D; K as starters

QB: Tony Romo
QB: Joe Flacco
RB: LeGarrette Blount
RB: Frank Gore
RB: Shonn Greene
RB: Brandon Jacobs
RB: Cadillac Williams
WR: Miles Austin
WR: Mike Williams
WR: Santana Moss
WR: Austin Collie
WR: Mike Sims-Walker
WR: Mohammed Massaquoi (My last pick; was running out of time :chuckles:)
TE: Vernon Davis
D/ST: San Diego
K: Mason Crosby

Little worried about the RB situation, but as long as Gore can stay healthy & Green takes over the majority of the carries as is the general thinking, I should be good.

Honestly I don't like your team much. I realize it's a 12 team league so it's not as bad as it looks at first glance, but you don't really have any standout players. Your team is comprised of solid contributors but no real fantasy gamebreakers. It kind of looks like you didn't have a first round pick. Hopefully it works out for you.

I do like Blount though, think he will have a good season. That should help your RB situation.

I don't like your team either. What was the overall of your selection? because if was 9-12 and you took Gore, then who the heck was your 2nd? Austin was a total reach if that was your 1st pick of the 2nd round.

Post your draft recap. I need to see who you were passing on.

I have Matt Ryan starting right now, and snagged Stafford in like the 10th round. He's on my bench right now, but I think the only knock on him is his injury problems and he's going to have a killer year...

Should I take the flyer and start Stafford off the bat, with Ryan on the bench as a legitimate safety net if Stafford goes down?

No. You better start MattyIce. He's is emerging quickly. He will be a steal this year because of where he is being drafted(7-8th round). next year he'll be going before Romo in the 4th.

No time now to post the draft recap, getting ready to leave for work, but I had the 12th pick & was forced to reach for RB's with my 1st 2 picks. Feel the drop off in RB is a lot bigger than the drop off in WR, especially in PPR. Peterson, Charles, Rice, Turner, Foster, Johnson, Mendenhall, McCoy, MJD were all gone by my pick. With 2 starting RB spots, felt I needed to go 2 RB's with my 1st 2 picks, as like I said, the drop off is moreso there than in WR.

I realize there's no fantasy studs there, but feel I have a solid team in tact all around & stocked up well with WR & RB to make up for a lack of a fantasy stud. And don't forget, Austin's season will be better with Romo back.

I do also have a solid backup QB & decent depth at RB & WR that I can use to package to get a lil better fantasy player.

I wasn't 100% happy with it, but think it's solid.

Here's my second league:

14 Team Yahoo Standard, no PPR, No Keeper
QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, Flex, D/ST, K

1. (5) Jamaal Charles RB
2. (24) Steven Jackson RB
3. (33) Mike Williams WR
4. (52) Matt Ryan QB
5. (61) Stevie Johnson WR
6. (80) Jonathan Stewart RB
7. (89) Daniel Thomas RB
8. (108) A.J. Green WR
9. (117) Danny Woodhead RB
10. (136) Nate Burleson WR
11. (145) Greg Olsen TE
12. (164) Dexter McCluster WR,RB
13. (173) New York DEF
14. (192) Jason Campbell QB
15. (201) Ryan Longwell K

Personally, I don't love the team at all. I hate 14 team leagues. Problem was, there was an annoying run on QB's where I picked Ryan. I was going to be forced to choose from Ryan, Cutler, and Kolb with even Manning and Freeman gone. Then there was another annoying run on TE's, so I'm really counting on Olsen to come through. My worst decision IMO was waiting on a back-up QB. Campbell is useless. It seemed like everyone I wanted got picked 2-3 picks before me. Hightower, Stafford, and a bunch of WR's included.

Anyways, let me know what you think with consideration to the fact that it's a 14 team league.

I think the problem here is your commish. If you have a 14 team league, you need smaller benches. Nobody likes playing in a 14 team league where you stockpile players in the draft then spend the rest of the season trying to get excited about picking up Jacksonville's new slot receiver. What's up with HAVING to play 4 RBs? Am I reading that correctly?

That said, Burleson is a sleeper. I hitched my wagon to Stevie Johnson and Mike Williams as well.

Stevie Johnson's time came and went with the Lee Evans trade IMO. I think he's the only capable receiver on the Bills besides Roscoe Parrish...He's going to have a hard time finding daylight this year.

Still debating on who to start at the flex. A little worried about wrs just because of the injury issues, but if healthy I think they can be decent.

Sorry Keys.

I'm an idiot...its only two RB's. I just wrote that wrong. The other annoying thing he does is not count decimals.

The only upside I think is that there's only one standout team in the league and with one or two injuries he's right there with us.

As for the Stevie Johnson argument...sure, in some cases losing a good #2 guy makes it tougher to get the #1 guy open. But on the other hand...he's the only guy to throw too so he's gonna have more targets.

Burleson is gonna be excellent this year. Stafford loves him.

Chris Johnson has officially ended his holdout, he should be starting week 1.

Of course all of these threads are kind of projections and far from certain. Last year at this time, I was trying hard to decide between starting Ronnie Brown or this Adrian Foster kid I picked up in the mid-rounds. Within a month, this played itself out to be a no-brainer and quite different than how most experts predicted it.

Sterling Sharpe didn't need a second option to dominate. I passed on Roddy White year in and year out because of the second option argument, and obviously regretted it. People don't like Stevie or Mike because they weren't stars in college, not first round picks, and he now play in Buffalo and Tampa for mid-tier offenses. I still think they are both high-end #2 WRs.

If not, I bought low on Maclin to be my 3WR. He may end up better than both Williams and Johnson.

BTW: Reports on Campbell have been positive out of Oakland. He is conservative, but he doesn't throw picks. Worst comes to worst, somebody always drops their backup QB in the first bye week. You can snatch up an upgrade down the line.
