Hue Jackson and Todd Haley Fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is like that one year where we were one of the best ranked defenses against the run. I think it was Kruger's first year here. We were one of the top rated run defenses and then near last in pass defense.

I also remember a year we had a top 5 pass defense statistically and it was mostly because we gave up about 180 yards on the ground per game, by far the worst in the NFL

Maybe our pass defense is so bad teams don't even bother establishing the run:conf (11):

I am actually looking at they still try to run on us with the amount of attempts, but our front 7 is actually really good. Also I don't want us to keep changing this coaching staff, the defense has improved so changing out of Williams after this season would be a bad idea. I am thinking Hue has the full season to right the ship and if he doesn't show his own personal improvement, they may have to make changes, but retain Williams and whatnot.

The defense is, quite easily, bottom 10 in the NFL.

Saying that the Patriots have been worse does nothing to disprove that

This is not a bottom 10 defense. Top 5 against the run and top 15 against the pass.

And bottom 5 in the one thing that matters... points.

Against a pretty easy schedule to boot.

Dude you literally just today said you thought we could dominate the Texans. I get you're a really optimistic guy but this is a dumpster fire right now and this team is so, so, so, so much worse than you think

It's worse than a bottom 10 defense. It's a bottom 3 defense.

30th ranked according to DVOA.

Don't get caught up in yards allowed. The Browns have GREATLY benefited from teams taking their foot off the gas pedal once they've gotten a big lead.

For instance, the Browns forced three 3 and outs in a row in the 2nd half of today's game after the Texas were up 33-3. Totally meaningless.

Our offense is at the bottom of the league in time of possession. Our defense is on the field....a lot.

if you look, quarterbacks have had their best games of the season against this defense. Look at some quarterback ratings against this defense, and compare it to their rating against other teams thus far. It's actually kind of amazing.

But hey, rush defense statistics without context really has me sold on this unit so I'm not worried about it, points per game allowed be damned.

Even if the offense were to miraculously average 3 goddamn touchdowns a game, we would still have a negative point differential due to...bad defense, probably.

Sad part is we are still better than the Patriots defense overall, but we dont have Tom Brady on the other side *sighs*

They've allowed two more points than we have; by what barometer do you conclude that we are better? So what if our defense is better than New England's? Ours is no less atrocious because of that irrelevant tidbit. I have no idea what you're trying to argue here.

If an I'm inch taller than a dwarf, should I consider myself a tall person?

The Patriots and Browns have both played 6 games.

The Patriots have allowed 6 players to throw for over 300 yards. The Browns have not had one player throw for 300 yards on them. Browns have not allowed a 100 yard rusher. Pats have. Browns have had 2 guys eclipse 100 receiving yards on this defense. Pats have allowed 4. Our defense is better than theirs and the difference between the two teams is on the offensive side of the ball. With a halfway decent offense we probably aren't 0-6.

I get the Hue hate. I really do. But I think there's a good coach in there.

Every single player truly believes the Browns should stick with Hue. They trust him.

You can't switch every two years and expect to get somewhere.

He's made bad choices out of frustration, but who hasn't? This is the toughest job in all of sports.

The position of the Cleveland Browns' head coach is where smart, motivated men enter and they leave in a straight jacket.

He's got time to save his job.

just needs 4 wins really. But that's asking a lot with this current team.

Apparently Ben Mcadoo gave up his play calling duties to his OC and they won against the Broncos.

We give up 26.2 points per game. We have games against the Jets and the Brisset led Colts thrown in there for good measure and we still are 5th worst scoring defense

But at least we don't give up many yards!!! Break but don't bend!!!
To be fair, our offense turns the ball over so often giving opponents good field position and sending the defense back out with short rest, the points given up isn't completely on the defense. They give up their fair share as it is, but the offensive turnovers totally rat fuck the defense on top of them having their own problems.
