If good enough, what game mark should we trade our '12 pick for talent?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You mean Larry Hughes?

Are you being serious or making a lighthearted joke? In case anyone thinks you are serious...

Larry had two 18.8+ ppg seasons, with 41% and 43% shooting, on the 5th and 7th fastest teams in the league. Meanwhile, I was talking about a guy like Rudy Gay, who scored 18.8+ in four consecutive seasons while always shooting above 45% at paces of 7th, 10th, 15th, and 20th.

I mean 66 games separate when the body of Larry Hughes fell completely apart (444) and where Gay is right now in his career (378). I mean Both players are a notch below fringe All Stars making big money over long contracts. I mean neither has been anything more than 3rd best players on their teams, and those teams are usually on the outside of the playoffs looking in. I do think I'd be more excited about Gay joining the team than I was Hughes joining... I was on record being against the deal at the time. But, Hughes was a free agent and didn't cost a lottery pick in exchange. The cost is WAY too much in this draft.

A career 17 ppg on 46/35/79 shooting percentage is not worth a #12 and below draft pick??

Do you all listen to the things you say?

Where did the #12 or below come from? And it's not just Gay being worth the pick. It's Gay being worth our 1st round pick AND what we can get with the other 16M in cap space. Gay wont be a top 40 player in the NBA in 2014 when we are ready to contend, but he will be making $20M.

In 2014, Gay will have just turned 28 years old and will probably be working on his third 20 ppg season.

Our top 7 draft pick and the other players we can get with the Gay cap space will be combining for 40 ppg...pleezebelieve me.

So what you are saying, Limpy Pleeze Eyes, is that you are absolutely the same guy we have had to perma ban over a dozen times under different names, and you dislike the fact that Max failed to capitalize the name you used in 2009.

This is the best argument you have for trading away the 2012 first round pick?

I don't know these people you speak of. I just joined last month

Eli came onto this board with one thing in mind
To patronize Anthony Davis and hype Perry but what did we find
A little Kyrie hate here, Meyers Leonard top 10 there
He contimplated going with the screen name Growling Bear
MKG snuck his way in as all post players were evil
Eli struck gold by picking a prospect that wasn’t so feeble
Good times were flowing friends were being made
He thought everybody else was Chris Bosh and he was D Wade
Alas Perry Jones plays good and the Cavs win 2 games
Jones becomes #1, everybody else sucks, don’t mess with his fame
Cavs become playoff contenders and Rudy Gay is the top target
Eli feeling good, why not dabble in the FA market
Trading away 2012 top 10 picks, nobody agrees
He starts seeing his hopes and dreams go away with every post from Keys
Things get ugly, Rabman gets upset
Max pulls out the old screen name trick to try to catch a limping pet
Eli takes the bait thanks to Max’s wizardry
Perma-ban to Eli’s new ip address and the rest is history.

Somehow I completely missed this thread and all of the great Eli/Limping Puppy bashing that went along with it. It was an awesome 20 minutes that I just spent catching up on every post :D

As Jigo said earlier, it's a shame that Eli went back to his delusional, Perry Jones dick-sucking roots. Everyone knew he was Eli from the moment he started posting, but he strung together some decent posts when he talked about other draft prospects without dissing the rest of the board. I saw some potential in him as a poster... then this thread happened, and he was out of RCF faster than Adam Morrison was out of the NBA.

Finally, to all the posters dissing Eli in this thread and the other one, particularly Max for pulling the ban trigger:
