Does Crowder have the handle to play 2? I don't think so, but could be wrong.
I think we should play him in the role we've always needed. Back up LeBron.. you can of course always play them together later in games if something is working, but for a starting 5 I still think JR works best

Unless Crowder or LeBron starts at the 4, I don't see him in the starting lineup.
Yeah, he can. And as you said, LeBron will be sharing the ball handling duties with IT. Whoever the SG is won't touch the ball unless it's catch and shoot.Do you think Crowder can defend SG's?

I guess we could roll big with Crowder at the 2..
I'm not sure there's a quick enough SG that is relevant, honestly.I asked legit though, I think he can, but I am not an expert on Crowder's game and not sure if he is good at defending quicker wings or not.
I know he is athletic and built like a 6'6 ox, but is he quick enough to guard a quicker sg?
just looking for people's feedback.

The problem remains we'd have absolutely nobody to guard good PG's.
Rose has been god awful on defense. Better than IT, yes, but then so is the entire league.Dereck Rose? I know not ideal, but better defender than a midget.

Ok, not ideal was probably an understatement.
I think Patrick Beverly or Mike Conley would be the perfect pg's for us but its not like either are on the market.

People were not psyched about Conley in another thread, but he is definitely part of what worked when the Grizz would challenge GS. Obviously they couldn't score enough, but he was good at guarding Steph.
I think Crowder is fine at the 2, but I don't think he will successfully crossmatch against point guards; which means, we're relying on Thomas to guard opposing PGs.
How do you hide a 5'9 guy on defense though? 6'4 sg's wouldnt be bothered either. IT cant effect Lebron James Jr shot much less a NBA SG.
It is really an issue. I just hope we flip the pick plus an asset to get a different pg.
The Celtics have actually played against the warriors better than just about anybody the last three seasons sans us.You can't.. the Celtics couldn't... And against Golden State, he will be a target in the PnR nonstop..
It's... just not going to work.
I also think Thomas' offensive game won't translate from the Celtics playing alongside so many other high-scoring players... Nor do I think going from Stevens to Lue will benefit his game...
Really feel like Thomas has to be traded ASAP.
