Jamario Moon (Heat decline offer)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In my opinion he will fill the Wally role. Except that he'll play the 3 on offense and LeBron will play the 4.

I hope that work in the post LeBron is doing pays off...This give us a dimension on offense we've never seen when we go small. WE never had a player who could score on the block consistently.

Yeah I know that Wally did at times but he didn't draw the attention LeBron did.

This isn't involving Moon but I think it would be interesting to see a lineup of LBJ, Parker, West, Williams, and Boobie in a situation where we are tied and have the ball with under 10 seconds left to go.

I assume that Parker gets part of Gibson's minutes.

I'd rather see Gibson get Gibson's minutes to be honest with you. :chuckles: I think the kid has proven enough to warrant grabbing whatever minutes Mo and Delonte aren't on the court, especially if he can play with Shaq and LeBron on the floor at the same time.

In fact, I bet it could be worked out so that the majority of Boobie's minutes would come with Shaq on the floor. It would make sense that Boobie enters the game at the same time Shaq returns from his first break, towards the end of the first quarter or beginning of the second.

I just don't necessarily think a SF like Moon has to take a SG's minutes. As I think about where minutes would get dispensed and the variety of positions Moon and Parker can play defensively and offensively, I'm realizing just how deep of a team the Cavs finally have.

They have three guys that can regularly create on their own off the dribble (Delonte, Mo and LeBron) and three guys who could potentially ONLY hang out on the perimeter to take advantage of kick-outs (Parker, Moon, Boobie). The other interesting thing is that Delonte, Mo, LeBron, Moon AND Parker (Parker less than the other guys) are all highly capable of taking advantage of fast-breaks. That's not to mention that we have a few bigs that are capable of getting easy baskets simply by trailing the break.

Parker and Moon playing reliable minutes off the bench adds a wrinkle to the team that we've never seen before. In terms of veterans off the bench: Boobie, Z, Parker, Moon looks a whole HELL of a lot better than Damon Jones, Big Ben, Sasha, Marshall, Wally

This is turning into a sad little soap opera.

Boobiefor3- I knnow how frustrating it is to not be believed. I feel responsible for what you're going through because in your initial post you made it seem like you were just sitting beside Ferry, at the golf course, and he just got a call confirming from Riley that he wasn't going to be declining the contract offer.

I responded that he wasn't golfing, because I knew he wasn't golfing. I knew where he was then because I'd just talked to him five minutes before you posted that.

You then came back saying that you actually were golfing with him two hours earlier than you had implied, or maybe I just thought you implied in your original post. So, that may have changed things.

You seem to know enough about things that I believe you have some ties to him, and I truly believe your uncle most likely is Michael Coyne.

Yes, I know him... although I haven't seen him in a handful of years. I always thought he was more on the entertainment side of players dealings. I believe he was with Evergreen, is that right ?

Anyway, I apologize if when I posted that Ferry wasn't golfing, that I questioned your truthfulness. I don't know that he maybe didn't get a quick rouund of golf in before he went home. It would have had to have been a very quick spin through nine, but I guess it could have been possible.

When I talked to him around 5:30-ish, I mentioned what I had heard from a Miami guy about them declining the offer, and he never said that he had talked to Riley at that point, he just said that we'll know for sure at midnight.

You seem to know Danny's golf game well enough. He may show a 9 handicap, but those that play with him know better....

I still doesn't add up. At 5:50pm Boobiefor3 said he just golfed with DF, but then later said it was around 3:30pm. So the big question is, did Ferry know that Miami declined at 3:30pm. I guess I'll be a believer if Moon is introduced on Monday at a golf outing.

Let's remember that Shaq will probably miss 10-12 games. He has not played a full season in awhile. There will be plenty of minutes to go around between Moon Parker and Gibson in the reg season. Playoff time is a different matter

I thought Brian SHAW was a coach for the Lakers.

With Mo, D. West, Parker, and Boobie it will be hard to find minutes for him.:chuckles:

Back on topic...Does this guy essentially get all of the minutes Sasha and Wally played last year or is he going to be worked in for some mismatch line-ups as well?

About mismatch lineups, Id imagine he'd be played a lot against Orlando, when the time comes. He's that guy we could've really used matching up with Rashard.

I assume that Parker gets part of Gibson's minutes, plus about half of Sasha's minutes. I figure Moon gets all of Wally's minutes, plus a few of Sashas too. I could see him being worked in for mismatch lineups, unfortunately, MB seems to use these as reactionary moves, rather than proactive moves.

I would hope that Parker gets some of West's and Mo's mins also.

I'm sure thats why Ferry brought him in, against those athletic PF's like Lewis, put Moon on him, Lebron on Carter, and we'd be set for the backcourt matchups against the Magic.

All I was saying was how this thread has become more of a soap opera than people discussing the Moon signing and what he will bring to this team.

we used the mle for moon right? now we should go out and get us PF

We used the MLE on both Moon and Parker and still have the BAE to use on Joe if we decide to.

We have non-bird rights for Joe, so I think we can sign him without the BAE, but only for a little more then he made last year for us, I think. I am no expert on it.
