Jamario Moon (Heat decline offer)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So basically Ferry landed us Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon with the MLE.

I dont't know about you guys but for me a combo of Parker and Moon > Charlie V with the MLE since it satisfies 2 of our biggest needs (Wing defender and backup 2 that can create) opposed to Charlie V solving the "20 feet jumper swisher" 4 issue.

I seriously think we are better off with signing Joe Smith. With that, we'll have great depth in each of the positions. Also a veteran pg addition such as Brevin Knight would be cool too.

West would only get moved in a deal that brings in the 4 we are looking for plus his replacement. Trading Delonte for a PF simply opens a hole somewhere else, which I don't see Danny Boy doing. The Cavs are a solid team and a contender albeit not the best in the league. I still think the best option to fill the 4 spot will be a S&T with Wally.

Agree, somewhat. West gets moved for a stud PF. We have his backup in Parker, who could easily start. So losing West wouldn't exactly create a hole. But it would have to be a very good player to get Ferry's attention.

As for being a "solid" team. The Cavs won 66 games last year, best in the league, while this summer they significantly increased their post presence and solidified their bench. Also, the players can gain from playing together; especially Mo, West and LBJ. I think some people have overlooked that it's typically tough for a team to adjust to a new PG. There's a feeling out process. Now Mo, West and LBJ have a comfort level they didn't have at this time last year.

The only team that's better than us on paper is the Lakers -- and that depends on Odom.

Well I'm glad we gottem..now lets see what else Ferry can bring in.

It would create a hole..

You see West as strictly the starting SG, which he is, but he is also the backup PG..

That would create a HUGE hole for us, as Boobie cannot handle the backup PG role..

It would basically be filling a need just to open up a new hole

I think you're forgetting about Parker. He can play point (started some games their last year). So can Lebron. So can Boobie for a few spot minutes. It wouldn't be ideal. But it's also not ideal to have your starting 2 be your primary back-up at point. Moving West would basically put us in the same position we were in last season. Not a strength. But not a huge hole.

I don't like the idea of moving West. But he's the guy who goes if we bring in a big time starter at the 4. Which is why it's probably not happening.

Did you not watch at all last season?

How would it put us in the same position? Delonte ran the point when Mo was out of the game.. now who would?

Sure, Parker can play point for a few minutes.. but I'd rather have him do what he does best, defend & shoot.. Mo's not gonna play 40+ minutes per game..

Boobie cannot.. even for a few spot minutes.. maybe in blowouts to see what he's improved on, maybe.. but nothing, zero, zilch in close games..

While I agree it's not ideal, this is why ppl have still been clamoring for another backup PG, even with Delonte.. however, Delonte is still more than capable of doing it, and there's no reason, especially with our depth now, that he can't do it, other than the fact that he'd have to switch his mind set mid-game, that's about it..

You lose Delonte without getting a backup PG in return, you create another hole..

I think at this point, Joe is our best option at pf. Having his non bird rights means we can sign him for 120% of last years salary and not use the bae or mle. I almost rather pay him more for less years than get sattled with a 3 or 4 year contract. Offer him a bigger 3 year deal with the 3rd year only partially gurneteed for 5 or 6 million a year, last year only 1 mill gurunteed. It might be a bit over paying, but he we have to give him something, longer contract or more money now. There is no one left that we can reasonably get that is even close to his skill level unless we pull a trade out of our ass. (not saying ferry isnt capable, expecially since he is already sitting on his hands)

Parker. Which is how it would put us in the same position as last year.

LeBron could play PG also if needed, he is pretty much a point forward anyway so he can bring the ball up. He was our PG his rookie year when he played with Davis and Miles too.

I absolutely love the idea of MOON, it adds more length to the team. I am also new here so HI everyone :)

solid signing. love his defensive game and athleticism. he can run the court well like lebron. he'll give us alot of what we would have been looking ot get from ariza, but much more cost effective.

never even thought about him as a possiblity. didn't realize he was a free agent actually.
