Do Not Sell My Personal Information

That video nudged me into a different perspective on regular season awards.

Rank in order of most likely to least likely to win:

A. Flacco for Comeback Player of the Year
B. Stefanski for Coach of the Year
C. Myles for Defensive Player of the Year
D. Schwartz for Assistant Coach of the Year

I am not sure, I dont think Flacco wins, but I think its 50/50 on Myles, 75% on Steanski and 90% on Schwartz,

So i flip Stefanski and Myles.

That said, I am not mad if Hamlin wins, he did die and then played a snap or two the next year, career dead vs actually being dead is just a different level.

I’m not holding my breath for Joe to win Comeback Player. Feels like it has to go to Hamlin out of obligation even though he stinks as a football player.

Whatever. Next season’s Comeback Player award will be coming to Cleveland anyway.

I think the NFL had their script on how the postseason awards would go, and then the Browns went on a crazy tear with Flacco and tossed the narrative on its head.

Jim Schwartz had the Assistant COY in the bag. A guy comes back from heart complications, may never coach again, and sets records for modern NFL defenses? Okay, easy award but that's all you get, Cleveland. Don't get greedy and know your station.

Myles was in the running for Defensive POY, but the NFL has to spread this award out. Sure advanced metrics show that Myles draws the most double teams and still has the highest win rate, but we can't sit back and let the Steelers and Cowboys get nothing. Not with their huge fanbases. So it's between Micah and Watt.

Damir Hamlin played his two snaps to win his predestined Comeback POY and the NFL gets lots of good press. Look at us, proving the game isn't as dangerous as people say. Then Flacco showed up and made it competitive.

Demeco Ryan and Dan Campbell gave two horribly run franchises winning seasons and a playoff birth. What fun, the NFL gets to prop up a couple of fanbases with the debate, even if only one coach wins. Then Flacco showed up and Stefanski looks like the best coach in the NFL down the stretch.

I'm intrigued how this plays out, but I learned years ago that postseason awards are a league marketing tool, not actually measured.
