Joe Flacco: 2023 Comeback POY

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Joe Flacco has 10 victories in the playoffs, good for 12th all time ahead of HOFers like Kurt Warner and Jim Kelly and future HOF Drew Brees.

Flacco is 10-5 in the playoffs for an impressive .6667 winning playoff percentage, ahead of players like Peyton Manning Rothelesburger, Farve, Brees, ect.

Flacco takes another step up in the playoffs. I cant fucking wait.

Flacco was the NFL poster boy for taking such a huge contract that he ruined his team, and by proxy his own career.

Allan Houston for the Knicks was one cautionary tale. Alex Rodriguez for the Texas Rangers was another.

With Flacco signing the biggest contract in the NFL at the time in 2013, Baltimore had to gut their team. Surrounded by mediocrity, Flacco looked mediocre.

NFL Network put their Flacco montage to "This Old Man". Nick-knack, paddywhack... why didn't we think of that?

Still was better than any other option we had.

Our 3rd stiring tackles did him no favors today's.

the better team won. Though i believe the talent gap is a heck of a lot closer than it showed.

It may well be for the long term best of the team and fan base that there will be no {sentient/self-respecting} offseason banter or discussion about what to do at the QB position going forward.

But immense gratitude to Joe and the leadership and cool head and overall presence he brought this team that was battered and bruised giving them enough juice to push past their ailments and make a playoff push and secure the top non-divisional seed.

Our last third of the season was a blast that none of us could have otherwise foreseen, thanks for bringing that juice to Cleveland at the time when our cups felt most empty Joe Flacco!

If he doesn’t get a starting gig anywhere else… I’d absolutely make him the highest paid backup.

For a lot of reasons, I just don't believe this is tenable whatsoever.

I think the time has come to bring Joe in, shake his hand, and wish him the absolute best wherever he lands next season and beyond.

Right, you simply cannot have the 6'5" Joe looking over the shoulder of #4 in the metaphorical or physical sense for the entirety of the pre and regular season going forward.

Fan is short for fanatics and those chants for Flacco given his run wouldn't take more than two mistakes by Deshaun to start to brew.

Additionally, Browns are not in a financial position to make anybody the highest paid anything going forward given their commitment to Watson and the upcoming cap crunch they will now have to negotiate with players having performed up to and beyond their baseline projections/expectations at the beginning of this season.

We'll again need to find a RB#2/3 and a true WR#2 and sort out our DLine once more this upcoming Spring and Summer.
