Some food for thought on Johnson.....
He started out slow this season....he really was awful in December and January but he has been really good the last 22 games.
His splits since February 1st:
22 games
82/170 FG - 48.2%
43/96 3 PT - 44.5%
13.6 PPG, 4.6 AST, 3.5 REB
Those numbers are silly.
Additional advanced stats that like him:
His RPM wins: 2.81 (19/79 among SF's).
His ORPM: 0.36 (16/79 among SF's).
Additional advanced stats that don't:
His DRPM: -1.06 (55/79 among SF's).
His RPM: -0.70 (28/79 among SF's).
He seems like a good bench scorer but at this point in his career, he doesn't do much on the defensive end.
One of the things that is really painful about looking at the Brooklyn numbers is it absolutely SUCKS that Hollis-Jefferson went one pick before the Cavs slot. He is a great defender as a rookie on an absolutely horrendous defensive team. It's absolutely depressing.
Hollis-Jefferson is #2 among SG's in DRPM, his DefRTG of 98.9 is better than a guy like Shumpert. Seeing how he ranks this season just makes me depressed. What an amazing addition he would have been as a perimeter defender that late in the draft.
