JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Great to see some flashes of the old JR Swish. When he first got traded here those stretches where he would bury crazy shots just demoralized teams.

Shooters shoot. JR is shooting himself right back into form. His lift is good. His energy is high. His D is getting there. The team trusts him and that is huge for his confidence.
Wish he would smack.some sense into Shump. If Shump approached the game like.JR has since he joined us he would be an elite 3 and D guy.

Who thought you would be able to say that statement three years ago? I've seen enough from Shump to realize that he just won't put the work in to become a consistent guy we can rely on. Hope he is moved in the off-season.

The thing a lot of outside people don't notice is that JR works incredibly hard on his game and his shot. People think he just relies on talent and athleticism, because when he's on he makes it look easy...but he regularly gets to the gym early to get shots up, which completely conflicts with the reputation as a partier or troublemaker that people view him as.

JR just cares in a way that Shumpert doesn't really. Shumpert comes across like he doesn't even like basketball at times.

You can watch games like the last two and when JR is "right" he is a significantly better player than Shump. And, what's more, JR seems to be happy to be the guy he is on this team. 12 PPG, playing good D, throwing odd lobs to LeBron, etc. ;) Dude's in my top 5 fave Cavs players all time. So glad to see him rounding back into form.

Exactly.

Shump COULD be an elite 3+D guy if he put in the work.

JR IS an elite 3+D guy and he even has a decent all around skill-set from his 6th man if the year days...He can dribble drive a little, he can pass a little, he can create his own space for a shot, and he doesn't need to be open when he gets the ball to drain a big three. JR is one of the best role players in the league when he's healthy and in rhythm.

Why in the hell didn't we give JR the ball to go for the game winner instead of giving it to Frye and Korver who both obviously can't dribble.

I just felt the way JR felt when he put his hand down and began to shake his head.

Did you watch the game last night?

JR was catatonic every minute he was on the floor. He had as many turnovers as he did FG's last night.

Two? Hyperbole Much?
I guess D.Will's 14-10 IS better.......

I don't "do" +/- but, JR +1 and D.Will -8. Shump the only other starter in the "plus"at +4.

I'll give JR the game winning shot any day even if he's 0-20 that night.
