Lakers @ Blazers | April 10th, 2009

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nothing, just saying the bashing is pointless.

Nobody said Cavs own Lakers we're just celebrating our larger chance at HCA through our entire playoff run.

The Kobe bashing is just fun because he was the anti-clutch last night and people always knock on Bron for not being as good as Kobe down the stretch, pretty much BS. Nobody even wants to play the Lakers in the Finals here because we match up horribly with you guys. We are hoping Portland can take you out or at least wear you down because Portland owns you in the Garden.

Cool then.

Yeah Portland plays tough at home, but playoffs are different, I have no doubt that the Lakers could win in Portland in the playoffs. However the opposite is not the same, I DOUBT Portland can win in LA.

So all this crap about the Lakers will have so much trouble and will be taken to seven games because of a regular season game is silly. If I recall the Blazers got destroyed both times here.

Why are you guys making such a big deal about a regular season win? Okay the Blazers play inspired and emotional ball on their court, all young teams do, the Lakers played tired ball and messed up at the end. Okay, Lakers lost, that's the end of it.

By the logic in this thread then Lakers own the Cavs, did you forget that the Lakers beat you guys on your home court by double digits? and pretty much got blown out at Staples? You guys should know better than to over analyze a regular season win.

Portland plays good at home, that's all last night means, doesn't mean the Lakers are frauds, that the Blazers are gonna take them to seven. Playoffs are completely different, there's no back to backs, and the Lakers will be going in to Portland prepared with a game plan, not just fly in on game day with nothing like last night.

To all of you hating on Kobe for having a bad game last night.

Lebron vs Lakers this season:

@ Lakers: 23 points, 9-25 FG, 6 TO's in 42 mins
vs Lakers: 16 points, 5-20 FG in 40 mins

So yes, even the perfect King James has bad games, what does this mean? nothing. He's still my MVP this season.

Hoo boy, guess I need to lay into another fool. But, this is the last one, I have two exams next week and should be studying. The reason why we are "making a big deal about this regular season win" is that we are currently fighting tooth and nail for the overall #1 seed in the NBA. With three games left, it's highly unlikely that the Cavs lose 2/3 since 2/3 are at home. So excuse we Cavs fans for being excited that the Lakers lost in Portland. The only reason why "that's the end of it" is because you guys lost. If you guys had won last night and more pressure would have been placed on the upcoming Celtics game, there'd be celebrations by Lakers fans, don't deny it. If we were then to lose to the Celtics also, there would be man-orgies all over La-La land and beyond.

I have not forgotten the fact that the Lakers beat the Cavs both times this season. I'm not taking anything away from the Lakers. They are a great team dripping with talent. But, we did beat them last year 2-0. So over the last two seasons, we are tied 2-2. I'm not going to make excuses for the Cavs for those losses, we didn't play up to par and even though we were injured in both games ,players had to step up (and did not do so) and Mike Brown made some questionable rotation decisions. The Lakers do not _own_ the Cavs, period.

Quit crying about back-to-backs. Portland is more than a nice little home-team. They are a good team with talent. Yes they are young, yes they have their flaws. But they had some big performances by several players last night. Kobe isn't a fraud, I'd be more concerned about him being tarred and feathered by your own fan-base because of his off night. Los Angeles as a team played well, Kobe Bryant hogged the ball and tried to play the hero and failed.

Wow. Way to be childish bro. LeBron is in his sixth season, Kobe is in his thirteenth. LBJ still has some more developing to do. The Lakers and other teams will do what they can to mess up LBJ's game. And there has been success as you have mentioned. That does not mean LBJ is a king or perfect. I certainly don't believe he is, in fact I don't like some of the things he does at all. You can't blame him for the labels the media gives him. Or perhaps you are just jealous that LeBron and the lowly Cavaliers are trying to steal some of Kobe's (and LA's) spotlight.

The reason why there's "hate" on Kobe because of last night is because (and read this slowly): singlehandedly shot Los Angeles out of the game. Excuse the fans here at a rival message board for taking delight in someone who believes they are a big-time clutch performer to choke and cost his team a game because he went into ball-hog mode.

You lost both games in Portland. What I'm saying is that they can give you fits, not that they'll beat you. I hope they do but I don't think anyone here thinks its in the bag or anything.

Frankly I hope the Rockets blow it in the first round again, you guys get upset, and the Magic play the Pistons/Celtics to get knocked off. That way, no team that matches up with us is left. Those three teams scare me based on their team, not their record. I hope we don't play any of them.

Who knows, Portland can be like the Hawks from last season and schock the world, but on the other hand they can get murdered by the Lakers because their lack of experience.

If Portland plays LA in the playoffs it's highly unlikely that they'll win LA, but it's possible. On the other hand LA is more than capable of winning Portland. There's no telling of what will happen. We don't know. Like KG said, " ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE"

We have no idea what will happen. You can't just go out and make assumptions. Whatever happens, happens. I suggest we fans just sit back and watch.

Totally. If there is a team to knock LA off do you think it is the Nuggets? The Spurs(minute chance)? No, obviously it is the young team that has no idea what it is capable of, the Blazers. All it would take is one bad night in LA, or a tremendous performance from a new star. Never happened before? Ask the Detroit Pistons about what can happen when you think you are a lock to go to the finals.

Whatever happens, happens. I suggest we fans just sit back and watch.

OR...we gather some money and pay a certain Mr.Sasha Pavlovic and let "his people" take care of some of our enemies...

Not suggesting anything, just saying...

Will someone drop the ban hammer on the Laker Girls?

When I look at all the west teams. Portland is probably the Lakers toughest opponent in the West.

Blazers - 2-2 vs them this season obviously we know they were all wins for the home team. Blazers have some good match ups they have some lengthy athletes that can guard Kobe. He showed he can get to the rim against them though last game however they have some shot blocking bigs when he gets there. Speaking of their bigs they might be the best bigs to go against the Lakers bigs however Lakers still have the best bigs in the league so overall they will always have the advantage. Benches are good for both teams now that Lakers have Lamar off the bench and are getting production from Brown now that hes learned some of the offense. Toughest team in the west for the Lakers in my opinion with that said Lakers still have the upper hand I think we all can admit that even just starting with Home court an experience.

Hornets - Lakers beat them 2 times in NO, Hornets beat them once in LA and almost a 2nd time in LA but Chris Paul choked the game away with bad decisions surprisingly. Hornets do have Posey who can do a good job on Kobe, but its never 1 guy on Kobe its a team. Hornets are without Chandler right now not sure what his status is.

Spurs - If healthy would have been the Lakers biggest threat in the west, but that ended when manu was done for the season on top of that Duncan is hobbling towards the playoffs.

Mavs - Lakers swept them this season and have seemingly had their number for years and years and years. They have nobody to guard Kobe. And with Dampier playing limited minutes hes the only guy that even has a shot at guarding one of the Lakers bigs. And even then he didnt do a good job guarding them this season.

Jazz - They are a talented team, but they arent playing well. Boozer looks bad. Lakers beat them both times in LA without Boozer. Jazz won at home without Boozer and I believe Bynum didnt play that game either. Deron Williams is a beast so thats always tough.

Rockets - Lakers swept them this season. Lakers have been able to shut Yao down after Yao starting games hot by denying him the ball and coming from the blind side for doubles. Kobe has owned Artest and Battier this season. All the games have been seemingly close though with Kobe just murdering them in the 4th. With Bynum back though Scola has to guard Pau which Pau has shown this season to be a very bad match up for him.

Denver - Lakers have gone 3-1 vs the Nuggets this season. In the post their bigs dont have the height to guard the Lakers bigs Nuggets don't have that one defender that can guard Kobe. They even use Carter on him which is bad for them since he can just shoot over him. Denver is a better defensive team this season so they might be the 2nd toughest team for the Lakers in the west.

And Lakers are 4-0 vs the East top teams this season thought I throw that in :)

0-2 against the Magic  but thats when Nelson was with them and he single handedly won one of the games for the Magic.

I feel confident in the Lakers like im sure you feel about the Cavs. Well see what happens.
