Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This hasn't exactly been the best week for me personally. I've had to take two trips to the hospital for two family members one who was having surgery and another who feeling ill which required me to leave work early Wednesday and be at the hospital until 2 a.m. Thursday morning. I've been swamped with work and as a reporter I've become beyond frustrated with stories I'm writing not making the paper or being cancelled.

A laptop I bought last Friday for around $1,400 had some sort of screen defect so last night I drove out to Best Buy to get a refund. Somehow without too much hassle I was able to get a refund (which hasn't actually hit my bank account yet). Somewhere in between everything I turn on the Cavs game on my phone or on the radio and am surprised when they are up 17 at half.

In the midst of watching or listening to this game on the go, I'm also picking up dinner for my family. While I was in one location to return the computer my family accidentally ordered food from a place that's even further away from home. As I keep going further and further out the Cavs' lead keeps shrinking and shrinking and by the time I pick up food for myself the game was tied and then the Pacers hit a four-point play. It takes me so long to get back home that family members start calling me during the final few possessions of the game prompting me to hang up or not answer the phone.

I know this is just a stupid game I shouldn't care about but I just don't want us to go out like this. I'd rather us go out guns blazing than blowing big leads to the fucking Pacers. And something that sucks is the next game is at 8 or 8:30 Sunday night so if we lose we had to stay up relatively late.

Fuck this team

17 fucking long lead

This team makes it so fucking hard
So fucking hard

Godamn misfits OutKast’s knuckleheads

When we exit early and yes that'll be happening soon enough, I wonder if they'll fire Lue right away in hopes of keeping LBJ?

I’m “guessing” Lue is done regardless as he will take a year off to get his head on straight and reevaluate his career.

My issue is allowing yet another rookie GM to rebuild this team with or without LeBron. Trading for injured players isn’t really the smartest of moves, especially guys 5’2”

Altman has promise. Out of every GM they’ve had since LBJ came into the league, I trust him the most for some reason. That doesn’t mean he’s the best out there, but out of our collection of bums, Ferry, Grant etc, I don’t see him overreaching.

I'm still trusting the Cavs to pull together and win this series, but if this is the end, it is a sad lesson on how two grown and highly intelligent men, Gilbert and James, supposedly on the same team with the same goals, just could not put their egos aside and work together towards the common goal of winning a championship this year.

This chance won't come again in our lifetime.

Go Cavs!

Kyrie threatened to sit out the season- he was right, he is out for the season. He didn’t want to be here and that’s on LBJ.

Unless someone can pull a magical trade out that the Cavs turned down, this roster is what it is at this point. I still think Altman made lemonade out of the lemons he had. The problem is The head coach who is ruining any chance this team has.

He traded a top 10 player for a midget PG who had chronic hip issues and head bigger than the Grand Canyon. Crowder who had no history of an offense and Smith had major issues with. Hood who was outcasted from a playoff contending team for the bum Crowder. Nance and Clarkson who couldn't crack the starting lineup on a horrible Lakers team. He knew he was getting just rotation guys and threw away a pick in deep draft . F’n Hill who was so bad he could only land a gig with the hapless Kings. Traded away our only backup stretch big to cover for Love. Traded a disgruntled Wade even though he was extremely effective running the second unit. I’m sure by now he has the reputation with players that all they need to do is complain some and Altman will grant them their request to be traded. This isn’t good either. Cavs have needed a rim protector since Moz and that issue wasn’t addressed . Fuck what good things has he done ? Not reaching , all Altman does is throw shit at a wall and hopes it sticks . He’s a bum and will F up the off season drafting and trading . He needs to be fired yesterday and get an experienced GM in here ASAP to start evaluating this mess before the draft. Which I’m sure Gilbert won’t do because he’s to head strong to take on an alpha GM who may tell him the shut the fuck up and let him build a team.

I love guys who sit there and criticize without acknowledging what there was to work with.
Kyrie wanted out. OUT. Was having surgery to sit out the season (and yes he did have it and is out). The relationship was toxic.
They tried for George, Indiana refused to do business. What part of that confuses you?
He made a solid trade at the time- they wanted a pick for the future as LBJ can opt out. At the time the trade was the best at balancing the need to compete now, acquiring assets, and looking at the future. It still is.
The players didn’t work. Crowders parent died and went into a funk, and IT is IT- out. They moved these guys for young, talented but inexperienced guys (as well as the shit left from Griffin the great- another shit GM) and a PG that’s historically solid (only got 23 mins last night after scoring 9 pts in the first- that’s on fucking Lue). There were limited deals and none worth moving the pick for at the deadline. They still have it for the summer if something is manufactured, as well more attractive pieces.
Honestly unless you know something the rest of us don’t, you’re simply talking out your ass with anything to back it up. I’m all for accountability, but Altman hasn’t done a horrible job with the hand he was dealt and the options available.

By acquiring well known bench guys and leaving Lue with 2 viable starters on a contending team in LeBron and Love. You think the lemonade is so spectacular, please tell me who would start on Houston or GS. If you can’t answer this youre admitting Lue only has 2 starting caliber players. And I’m not defending Lue either, it’s just the reality .

Young talented inexperienced guys ?? Where have you been ? They are all vets with experience just so happens none are viable starters .

I don’t give a flying fuck Kyrie wanted out and the whole him sitting out the season threat was debunked . And if he did get surgery, he would have been ready around the same time the midget returned to action . You don’t cave in to guys who are locked up for 2 seasons , Kryie had ZERo leverage .

Sure he did. He’s a fucking baby by all accounts with a network of people that support his BS.
You weren’t fixing that relationship no matter how much you try and wish it away.

Kobe tried the same shit and people said the same shit and he had 10x more leverage. You're just as bad hoping shit will stick, guess what it’s all sliding down diarrhea style

Kyrie also was injury-prone when we traded him, and in fact was unable to play this post-season. Had we not traded him, we'd not only be without a PG, but also without the other players we obtained, and without the Net's pick. People scoffed at the leaked threat from Kyrie to sit out because of his knee, but as it turns out, it was not an idle threat.

Altman was handed a shit sandwich when he took over. Very limited moveable assets, except for his second best player demanding to be traded only after all the major player movement during/after the draft. The best time to have moved Kyrie was sometimes in June -- either before or on draft night. That's on Griffin, not Altman, that it didn't happen.

By the time Koby became GM on July 24, Jimmie Butler (June 24), Paul George (July 6), Dwight Howard (June 20), Deangelo Russell (June 20), etc., were all done deals with their new teams. We had zero salary cap space to sign any free agents of significance even if there had been any major ones still on the market.
