Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The lethargy and confusion displayed by the Cavs during the regular season
are woven into this group from the coaching staff to the players.

It's very tough to watch and even more difficult to hope for a sudden
transformation.

No excuses. Scoreboard doesn't lie.

I'd like to point out the absurdity of having a guy making 16 million a year for years to come being completely and totally out of the playoff rotation.

Shout out to @gourimoko who advocated trading this guy BEFORE we signed him to his new deal, while catching all sorts of shit around here for it.

"how can we replace him blah blah blah."

Here's one: would the CAvs have had the stones to make the trade San Antonio made to get KAwhi. A young, promising player like George Hill for a mid teens rookie who hadn't played a single NBA game? And off of another 50+ win season, no less?

Answer: no. The Cavs thing seems to be to hang onto players until they've exhausted all of their value and then trade them when they can't get a single thing in return.

See Iman Shumpert, who they swore they could get a 1st rounder for, only to hang onto, watch him degrade into nothing, and THEN trade him, when his value was nothing more than an expiring contract.

That entire mindset has to be completely thrown out the window this summer. THey have to get risky. Must must must. Guys we like have to be on the block. Nance. Osman. This BKN pick.

I agree entirely with your post. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING should be off the table this summer. Zizic/Cedi/BKN pick/Hood/Clarkson/Nance hell even Love, everyone is "trade-able." That doesn't mean we're trading any of them, but there should be nobody on this roster outside of LeBron that's untradeable. Explore all possibilities and try to find ways to improve this roster because what we currently have -- isn't working.

The sad part is I'd like to see a coaching change done first to see what a competent coach could do with this group... but that's just not going to happen.

Watching Philly VS Heat and combined both starting lineups probably only have 2 really good defenders in it but omg wow both teams seem to be holding their own defensively because even their worst defenders are giving max effort

Why can’t dudes actually play hard in Cleveland? Embiid is destroying all paint shots and that’s surely helping but even if he wasn’t both teams have 5 guys playing hard. Nobody is using an im too old excuse or acting hurt

Also its funny how every other team seems to not have some unhealthy addiction to isolating what they perceive to be poor defenders every play. Other teams are running actual offense that gets everyone involved and everyone seems to accept this and are playing unselfish.

The offense the Cavs run its like everyone just takes turns trying to make a cool iso highlight when in reality only LeBron should be playing ISO ball cause hes the only one good enough to do it

Our offense is so trash. When you look at it even our good plays are solely dependent on LeBron. We should have whole book of plays that are meant for anyone to run

Cedi and Zizic will be more valuable at the deadline than in the offseason.

Why the hell do we jack so many 3s. Hood, Clarkson, and Nance need to attack other teams in the paint.

My least favorite players to play right now are George Hill, and Jeff Green. Hill the most tho. He doesn't even try to break down the defense. Its like hes on Xbox tapping his A button as soon as he touches it. Dude isn't aggressive at all.

Rough season and predicting a rough offseason. Brooklyn pick dropped (likely) from top 5, Isaiah failed to fill second scorer role, Lebron has a clear path to exit (kind of surprising people aren't ready to get on him for running when it gets hard) and to top it offf, Kevin Love is crushing his trade value...

I'll still be a Cleveland fan regardless. Might actually enjoy the team next year. Unless we have the second comings of Manny Harris, Semih Erden, and Samuels...

This sucks.

I'm about done with this team, and it has nothing to do with LeBron and Love. Frankly tired of some of the "fans" here giving them crap; you don't get your 2016 ring without them, and the Cavs' behinds would be losing by 40 tonight without them. Not going to pay attention to any more silly posts slamming those guys. If you can't appreciate what they've done for your club, I hope they leave, and you can enjoy crying about 20 win basketball.

LeBron and Love weren't the ones fouling Bogdanovic on that three. Korver has just been a terrible playoff choker for them. The guy tries hard, but man he makes horrible plays in clutch playoff moments, like last year when he missed that big shot in the Finals. He gave up a lot to Bogdanovic tonight, including that fouled three late in the game that was just inexcusable. Had he not fouled him, and Love hits that three, the game is tied and goes into OT. But instead, Love hit the three, they were still down one because of the extra FT Bogdanovic got due to the Korver foul, they had to foul, Pacers make one of two FTs, and then J.R. chucks up an inane shot to end the game.

That garbage isn't on LeBron and Love. Some people will trash LeBron and Love as usual, but they hit big shots in the fourth to keep the team alive. Honestly it was Korver who mainly lost it for them tonight. ZERO points in 20 minutes, made the worst foul in the game, and was totally owned by Bogdanovic all night Korver was in.

I will always like Love and LeBron. As for the rest of this current unit, they just don't have what it takes. Can't even think I'll stand watching the Cavs anymore if the remaining big two leave. The LeBron, Kyrie, Love glory days were great, but they're over now, and the Cavs will not be much to watch in the coming years when all three are gone.

Long live the memories of 2016.

Its over man, I see a 99% chance we are back in tank mode in 2018/19. Lebron ain't staying for this, unless we somehow luck out in the lottery and are able to trade for a superstar.

I thought of this the other night but at minimum they have to make a trade something like Korver and Okaro White for Delly. Even though Delly isn't the ideal PG for this offense, we need someone like him to run the offense and give a spark on defense when we need it. We have slowly lost those spark plugs players. We are too heavy with SGs that can't create for themselves and don't have anyone to create for others outside of LeBron.

Ideally we need a PG that can drive and kick to the corners effectively and knock down a 3 when he is off the ball. We saw in the first half when LeBron was driving and kicking, how easily this offense works. It's too much to ask LeBron expell that kind of energy every play.

Everyone and anyone should be on the table because that's the bed the front office made when they got rid of Kyrie.

It' weird to see Pacers fans shit on LeBron and then prop up Michael jordan as this god king type of figure.

I say this is weird because my father (an indiana native) actually has compared LeBron favorably to Larry Bird.

But i'm so goddamned tired of their shit arguments against LeBron. "HE'S NOT TOUGH! HE CALLS FOR FOULS ALL THE TIME! HE'S NOT LIKE THOSE THAT PLAYED FOR IU!"

"TYPICAL LEBRON. JORDAN DID IT ALL ON HIS OWN! WHY CAN'T LEBRON?" (A fucking LIE)

For being a basketball crazy state? You would think these idiots would understand this type of crap.
