Lonzo Ball

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lonzo had a sick line of 10/8/8/3/4 and 0 TOs

I mean if the kid makes that a habit, obviously the blocks won't keep up, but if he can maintain a average of 2 steal, 1.5 blocks and shoot just a little bit better over a season then he's interesting. But 32% shooting isn't cutting it in a shooting league. Let's get it up to 40%.

#Fakenews

So what is the over/under on how long these boys stay there? 3-4 months? I can't imagine Lithuanians taking any shit from Pops. I do have to say, though, with these most recent developments it has turned me into a Lonzo Ball supporter- for him to be what seems like a pretty level-headed, likeable guy despite a father who seems to thrive on stirring things up has me now rooting for him. Not that I was against him before, per se, but it's clear his dad has added a whole ton of unwarranted pressure on to him.

I give them two months.

"The team has no general manager and doesn't practice regularly due to the poor financial situation."

Yup, sounds like they're on the fast track to the Lakers! :chuckle:

I just don’t get it. Lavar isn’t stupid and does usually have an end game in mind.

He’s a scumbag, but he’s not stupid.

What’s the end game with a shitty Lithuanian team in the middle of nowhere? Is that the only professional team in the world that would take both of them?

It'll be worth it if the paychecks dont bounce...

He should have had them use their scholarships to get accounting or teaching degrees or something. At least the older on...he has no chance at a pro career. Maybe the younger one would but he's basically ruining that too.

Lonzo better work on that FG% because his salary is going to need to cover the whole family pretty soon.

Previously had an endgame in mind. Back when he was a dad to 3 sons he was trying to help get into UCLA. Somewhere along the line, I think the situation became more than he could manipulate and now the while thing is going downhill. Remember, the BigBaller Brand thing was saw as shrewd- as long as he actually got his shoes made. He still hasn't. I really haven't seen his manipulations work since the eldest hit pro ball- can you name one? I would have to think that pulling your 16 year old out of HS because you don't get along with the coach that gives him free reign was the obvious sign that whatever touch he had was gone.

Pretty sure they had shoes at the pop-up shop in NYC this week. Pretty sure they’re made???

And it looked like there were crowds. People want a piece of these guys for sure. It’s mostly dumb teenage kids.

But overall...what’s working for Lavar is keeping his name in the news.

But as for his actual life maneuvers...pulling kids off high profile teams in Chino Hills, CA and UCLA (with Alford being respected as a very good coach) only to push them to a team on the far reaches of the world?

Seems like he’s pizza’ing when he should have french fried. Gonna have a bad time.

well I am from Lithuania and every basketball fan in there is shocked about this move because the team that they will play is way bellow average in there, the coach and general manager can't even speak english ( like the only coach in all the league) in last ten years they had just one foreigner player and in general the village is really small and there is literally nothing to do. One week ago there were already rumors that some stronger teams in lithuania that actually have infrastructure are interested in Balls but we all thought that its just a joke

Okay, so I have to ask....

@Los216 , what do you think of this guy now?

Was there some article posted in here regarding them going to Lithuania that I missed?

Anyway, leaving basketball completely aside for the moment, Lavar Ball apparently places zero value on his children obtaining an education. It's bad enough yanking one son out of college to play fourth rate professional basketball overseas, but pulling your 16 year old son out of high school and sending him to a foreign country to play ball...WTF????

Lavar Ball has decided what his children must do for a living, and that's play professional basketball. Whether they have the talent/ability or not. And if that's all he values, how the hell are those two younger boys going to feel when they can't meet their dad's expectations?

This guy is a complete nut, and I feel very badly for his sons. It's getting very difficult to watch, and has sort of gone past the point of being funny.

This is career filicide (look it up, I'm smart). LaMelo, by all accounts, is a NBA prospect (I don't think he'll be any good and won't last, but still). And you're gonna send him, a 16 year old child, across the ocean to play against 30 year old professional men? He's gonna get absolutely killed.

The positives about this move is that the team plays really fast ant three point orientated basketball that will suit balls (in last game they set new record for three pointers per game)The coach has all the reigns in there and despite results he won't be fired so the kids might have a chance to play a lot of minutes because the end result doesn't really matter for the general manager
