Luka Doncic

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I really, really wanted this kid. It's a shame we couldn't put together a trade package for him.

As a Kings fan I wants him badly would’ve been perfect if we moved up to 2 in the draft. Had Phoenix foolishly pass and than he would’ve been ours a man can dream

I believe he's being sarcastic

VORP (Value Over Replacement Player) is a cumulative stat. You can accumulate it through offense and defense.

Luka Doncic
:

15 games played, 506 minutes played, .3 VORP

Andrew Wiggins:

340 games played, 12,227 minutes played, -1.2 VORP

To convert VORP to WAR (wins above replacement, i.e., wins added above what a replacement level player (12th man) would add, multiply by 2.7.

Wins Above Replacement:

Doncic: .81
Wiggins: -3.24

Stunningly, Wiggins has produced 3.24 fewer wins than what a 12th man scrub would have (which is 0).

What I like about him and I I hope he doesn’t change that, is that he knows how to let others shine and not undermine their flow. Some unnamed GOAT that used to play here never really was able to make way for someone else to shine without forcing his way into the the game and take away the momentum.

That starting lineup has potential...Doncic, three wings (Matthews, Barnes, Finney-Smith) who space the floor, and lob target DeAndre Jordan. Had the Celtics scrambling from the opening tip.

Doncic true position/best position is the PG position. He should feast against point guards in the post as a scorer and facilitator. Doncic excels as a decision maker, so you have to give him the most decisions to make, and puting him in PnR situations and mismatches such as against PGs in the post is what you want to do. You know he will make the right decision. Dennis Smith is not a good fit.

Doncic wil lat times struggle against big defenders like Marcus Morris in Iso situations, so you really want to put him in a position where he has a physical advantage. That opens up his driving game because smaller defenders can't contain his penetration because of his size and shiftiness, while bigger defenders can block his driving lanes because they have bigger steps and are generally bigger and stronger so they are able to push him off his spots.

I'm sorry, but you can't have a non-floor spacing big out there in the modern NBA. The traditional center is dead....

Don't worry, I'm sure Jordan will be shooting threes before long. He shot a technical last night, in case there was any doubt that NBA hell has in fact frozen solid.
