Manny Harris waived (Post #28)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Manny Harris' End of the Year Performance

There wasnt enough competitive games to accurately judge Harris. He did show more poise and a commitment to defense than his last run but he still has a way to go

His ability to grab rebounds jumped out at me the most. When he was on the floor with guys like Erden and Casspi, he'd be the first to go after the ball.

Re: Manny Harris' End of the Year Performance

He has a hard time playing off the ball I think. He was starting to finish well and he is fast as hell. I think he may be able to guard guys like Westbrook or Rose with some practice and dedication to defense. He has nice length and athleticism to be a good defender. Can he develop the strength?

He looked much more comfortable towards the end. I'd like him to get some more playing time unless we get multiple upgrades at the 2.

Re: Manny Harris' End of the Year Performance

Manny Harris deserves to be on an NBA roster. He is better than a lot of scrubs we have seen over the years. Will he ever be a top 9 rotation player? I highly doubt it.

Who cares? Not me Vincent

Manny stinks

Re: Manny Harris' End of the Year Performance

Manny has a lot of things he needs to work on , specifically being able to knock down an open jumpshot in order to become a productive and cosistent role player. That being said, Thabo Sefelosa and other guys have hung in there and really haven't showed all that much more than Manny. He'll be a niche guy and at his best, i see him as a Delonte' type.

This offseason is huge for him. He'll be able to work in the summer league with Kyrie and that WILL NOT hurt one bit.

Re: Manny Harris' End of the Year Performance

I really liked in one of his game interviews when Manny said that he is already learning from Kyrie, despite Kyrie being younger than him. Hard not to love that kind of humility and attitude.

I saw that as well and i also thought it was pretty cool on various levels.

1) Manny isn't so ego-driven goofball who just doesn't get it
2) It shows what kind of special leader Kyrie already is, which bodes well for the future of the Cavs.

Re: Manny Harris' End of the Year Performance

Thanks man! This shot specifically sold it for me:

I noticed beforehand that he began to play with more emotion and try a lot harder, especially during that "Malice at the Palace" game vs. Detroit.

Manny dribbling off his foot and then banking in a prayer makes you think he's a good player? :-/

Re: Manny Harris' End of the Year Performance

I think Manny is going to have a battle on his hands just to earn a roster spot next season.

Manny, on his best day, can't hold Delonte's jock.

Re: Manny Harris' End of the Year Performance

That is ridiculous. I bet Manny can hold onto underwear as well as anyone in the league! It may be his best skill!

I admit I worded that the wrong way. What I meant was it finally proved to me that he was trying his hardest even though we were in the process of tanking. Those last couple of games he had nights with 18, 10, and 8 points. That's pretty good for a bench player. If he can do that consistently, he can be a great asset off the bench. I like what I saw from him and Samardo this season. What I saw from Casspi and Erden is something different though.

Cavaliers have announced they have waived guard Manny Harris

Bye bye Manny.

Re: Manny Harris' End of the Year Performance

i think this is once and for all the last we will see of manny. damn him for playing his best bball in October 2010, when the cavs took him over Danny Green, who really struggled. Green would have been a nice fit now, but he struggled in training camp that year.

Re: Manny Harris' End of the Year Performance

Odd considering how thin we are on the wings.

The Bullshit Whisperer thinks it means Cavs are close to signing someone else. Nothing big though.
