OSU vs ND ?

Obviously when two teams ranked ahead of both teams lose, stuff like this is bound to happen.

Most were saying OSU would get the bid over Oregon before LSU and VT lost.

I think OSU will win it, being the more complete team. We have a great D, they a great O. That is somewhat of a wash. Sure, they will score on us, but they won't score on us like they're used to. But then when you match up our O to their D, and factor in the great field position our special teams gave us all year (accept against UM), I see a two score advantage.

Course, mistakes can change the course of any game. If OSU comes out and lays an egg it will be a long night. But assuming equal mistakes on both sides, I see a Buckeye victory.

Holy shit! Just heard this is the zips first conference title EVER (they've been playing varsity football since 1915), and will be going to their first ever bowl game (Motor City Bowl). My god, in 90 years you can't just get lucky and win the conference 1 stinkin time? That is amazing. How does ANY school in talent rich Ohio suck for that long? Wtf?!?!

At any rate, I'm happy that they've finally gotten over the hump. I root for all Ohio schools who don't wear orange and brown...

I wonder how many other ohio schools, DI or not, haven't had a conference title in the last 90? I'd bet not many, if any. Mount Union is DIII and is almost unbeatable. (Admittedly they are at the extreme end of the spectrum.)

Mount Union is not almost unbeatable. They were just beat like a month ago. And that is because it is DIII.

There are probably alot of schools that havent. I dont care to take the time to look that up, but really, only the last 20 years should be counted here, because before DI, it really doesnt matter because only DI football matters.

If only the last twenty years matter then OSU is about a thousand times greater than Notre Dame.

Last ten years, certainly. OSU has had good to great years every year but 1 in the last 10. ND did have a couple good years in the 80s. Don't recall if they were 85 or later...

This college crap is only entertainment for me. I feel no connection to them. Sure I will root for OSU in the Fiesta Bowl, but that is only because I have been watching them for a while, and that they are in Ohio. But besides that, no connection or obligation like The Browns!
