Per Windy tweet: Chance Cavs will make roster move this week

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well atleast we know that Danny Ferry is at work today. That was the fastest turn of events in NBA history. Rafer Alston gets bought out, and within 10 minutes Windhorst and Woj confirmed that Ferry is not interested.

Now let's see Danny Ferry make something happen for us. I honestly don't know what could be stalling the whole Jamison/Z thing? What different position are the Wizards going to be in a month from now that they can't pull the trigger now? I'd like this move to happen so we can get the chemistry down sooner rather than later, and get Z back sooner rather than later.

What's the wait?

Maybe waiting to get an answer on arenas and his 110 mil boat anchor contract?

refresh, refresh, refresh, refresh.... This is the greatest time of the year!

Even if w don't win it all, LeBron is still probably staying...unless we fall apart and lose in the first round or some stupid shit.

Well I agree, but it certainly would help him make up his mind if we won it all. BECAUSE we do not after this season have any guarantee to him that we can compete for a championship. Z will most likely retire, Shaq is up in the air, we have no cap room for any player of signifigance. Our team now, unless we make a move will be our team moving forward without Z and Shaq. JJ is a crap shoot, Delonte is well a headcase, Boobie is inconsistant, AV is no all star and the others on our roster of are no serious threat or help to our future. This deadline is important for our future.

Way too much to give up for Frye, WAYYYYY too much. Plus he fits Phoenix perfectly so they wouldn't trade him.

I thought of not including the #1, but like you said he fits them very well, so I was making it enticing to the Suns, and our #1 is going to be the last pick of the 1st round..we can just go out and buy a high 2nd rounder for a few million if need be.

I like Fry a lot, he is a really good outside shooter and he gets his shot off fast, would spread the floor us big time. I think he has the athletism to be a good defender also.

Phoenix doesn't value first round picks at all, they just sell them(see:them selling multiple picks a few years back)

If rcf is like this on "non-guaranteed contract week" I can only imagine what February will bring. . .

I say to help intimidate the Wizzards to trade with us, we all drive up to DC, take a bag of dog shit, set it on fire, ring the arena doorbell, then run.

Its time we are all adult about this trade deadline and help Danny make something happen. :chuckles:

From what I understand, teams are able to arrange buyouts before the trade happens now. How true this is, I don't know. But I've heard that was an amendment made this year due to the constant amounts of buyouts happening in the past couple years.

I would love some clarification on this by someone with an inside source, rather than another person reading Coon's CBA FAQ.

I've read this too, probably in RCF. But I have never seen a source for it. Despite Bob Finnan reporting recently the league is frowning on "buy out and return to team" scenarios, I see no reason why it shouldn't be permitted to stipulate this in a trade, especially if the team trading the player to be bought out is providing the other team money to do the buy out. If Z is traded at or near the deadline, there would be less than two months left in the season, and it simply doesn't make any sense to me that the team (Washington or whoever) wouldn't want to buy Z out and save some more money, especially if they are over the cap (as Washington is)...I read in a New Orleans message board people trying to rationalize how a David West for Z trade could help the team by allowing them to move Okafor to PF, and I just shake my head...If NO trades for West, they will do everything they can to maximize the savings, and getting $3m from the Cavs to buy out Z would help them maximize their savings....So even if there is no such amendment to the CBA, I really can't see what would prevent Z from coming back to the Cavs, unless the league intervened or threatened to blacklist Danny Ferry for subverting the competitive integrity of the league or something.

Here's a question. Do we need to get OVER the cap next year? If we're slightly under the cap (say $2M), we don't get the MLE, correct? If we're over the cap by $1, we get the full MLE to spend. Is this correct? If so, isn't it basically essential for us to ADD payroll prior to next summer so we can afford to pick up a piece next summer?
