Playoff Positioning

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've said this before, and I'll say this again. Much like Kyrie Irving, I don't think Rose is a point guard at all.

I can't even judge Butler too much, because playing with Derrick Rose has got to be hard on other scorers. Unless you're a spot up shooter, then its probably not doing Butler much justice.

If I were Chicago, I'd be in the market for a point guard. Far as I am concern, they don't have one, and that's always been a problem for the Bulls with Derrick Rose.

Move him to the 2 guard, get a real point guard, and I'd be very scared to play them.

Scared? We'd obliterate the Bulls if they tried playing Rose off the ball.

Derrick Rose is strictly a score-first point guard, he's not a combo guard like Kyrie. Taking the ball out of his hands and playing him as an off-guard makes absolutely no sense; he provides no spacing (career 31% from deep) and he's a much better on-ball defender than off. I legitimately cant think of a single positive thing Rose would provide at shooting guard that a legitimate wing can't do better.

Rose needs the ball in his hands to just be a slightly-above average NBA player- Kyrie's successfully shifted off the ball around multiple players already (Livingston & LeBron), something Rose could never do.

The Cavs have gone from the 5th seed to the 3rd seed in just a couple of days. They are 2.5 games back of the 2nd seed and if this play keeps up, they may just move into that spot by the All-Star break. Amazing how far they've come after there were serious questions about them just a few weeks ago.

Here's to hoping that Atlanta channels their inner 2014 Indiana Pacers and lose a bunch and limp into the playoffs so we can catch them.

Honestly, when we get to the playoffs, the only team I'd rather not face if possible is Chicago. All it takes is Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah to play like their old selves for a week and we could be in trouble.

I'm fully confident we can handle this entire conference in six games max sans Chicago.

Washington certainly picked a useful time to lose 7 out of 9. Same for the Bulls in losing 9 out of 14.

If the Cavs play to their potential, I don't think playoff position is really an issue. But the highest seed possible is not going to hurt their chances. It must be nice for the team to look at the standings and see the tangible results of their streak.

I love the Eastern conference - Cavs record would place them 8th in the West.

With this current roster, I feel confident in our ability to win the East.

Griffin made the necessary moves, when many wanted to hold off, that has put this team in 3rd place in the East.

Defense wins championships. The pieces are in place, let's enjoy the 2nd half of the season.

Let's all cross our fingers that we somehow meet the Clippers in the Finals. They have no answer for us.

Warriors will come out of the West. They'll probably have to play 50 playoff games to get out, but I think they have to be the pick.

Chicago sucks. No way they last more than 5 with us.

So before All Star break, we play against Pacers, Lakers, Heat, and Bulls. We could easily win all of those, go 3-1 at the worst.

Raptors play Clippers, Spurs, and Wizards before All Star break. They should lose at least one or two there. Now when they come back, they play Hawks, Rockets, Pelicans, and Mavericks all on the road. Then come home to play the Warriors.

We have a chance to take a real solid lead in the #2 spot if we keep winning most of our games.

Chicago doesn't scare me. We've made them our bitch all year.

I disagree...anybody can definitely come out of the west it will be a battle in that conference

Second seed is where it's at for our team.. it would probably mean we only see one of Chicago/Atlanta and not until the conference finals. Much, much easier road. I truly could care less about the one seed (even if it were remotely feasible). I lol at myself in the mid to late 2000's - I used to think getting that 1 seed was so important. It never really did any good. It doesn't matter. Champions will win playoff games on the road when they need to. Anyway, seeding matters from the standpoint of making the road easier. It doesn't matter in terms of home court advantages IMO.
