Potential destinations for Anderson Varejao

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Too bad we have no shot at Dwight....

AV, Sessions, Jamison, 2012 1st rounder, Sac 1st Rounder, New Orleans 2nd rounder for Dwight and Hedo would be my deal.

Kyrie, Parker, Hedo, Samuels, Howard

With a bench of Gibson, Gee, Casspi, T2, Erden

That would be nice.

Orlando could then deal Sessions for another 1st rounder.

Kyrie and Dwight would be an awesome combination.

After that deal we can send Samardo to the Lakers for Kobe and Pau. That way the Lakers can then deal Samardo for a 2nd..................................I kid, in an easier way of saying, the Magic would never give up Howard for anything we have outside of Irving and Thompson.

I reckon the nets need to make a deal for Howard otherwise they are screwed.
We could perhaps help by trading AV and Sessions to the Magic along with the Nets' Brook Lopez. The Magic can then send Howard to the Nets.
In return we get the Nets first round pick and the Magic's first round pick.
The Nets are likely to miss the playoffs even if Howard goes to NJ it will take time for them gel. We get a lottery pick and the Magic's pick might be a 20th pick but hey who knows how they work out with Lopez they might be worse than they are right now.
We would have to take Turk's contract but we can absorb it.
The reason Magic should do this trade is they get a potential star in Lopez and a popular heart and hustle veteran in AV. I reckon they would trade us thier pick because they seem convinced they will make the playoffs and the value of the pick would drop.

We can do much better than that. We can possibly get both the Lakers and Mavericks 2012 pick from the Lakers with Sessions alone. In a separate deal, we can perhaps get an unprotected lottery pick for Andy.

Who do you reckon we could trade AV to that would give us an unprotected lottery pick?
Besides my idea could be tweaked to exclude sessions. I reckon the Nets are desperate to keep Williams and get Howard, I also reckon Howards situation has turned into a mess n they would be wiling to give up their pick jus to get Turk n Howard off their backs.
I also reckon Lopez and AV would be a pretty good front court.

I reckon that everyone on this board should be forced to start every post and thought with "I reckon."

Watching the Dallas game last night, it seems to me there might be some logic in not moving Andy this season. The team is coming together well and Andy seems to be a part of it. There is a value in the team cohesion during the rookie development of Kyrie. Breaking that up might not be the best message to send.

Reality is, unless a team is willing to give up a high draft pick or a young center with great upside Andy ain't going anywhere. He's too valuable.

If say Boston is willing to give their two 1st rnd picks and an expiring contract you'de have to look at it.

But a late 1st round pick, NO WAY.

What does everyone think about this idea:

Varejao and Casspi for Turner, Nocioni, and PHI's 2012 1st round pick.

Sessions for the lower (as in closer to #1) of LAL's or DAL's 1st round pick

Why we do this:

First, we get 2 first round picks (one late round, one mid-late round), which can be kept, or packaged to move up into the lottery. Second, we get another young piece and at a position of need with Turner, who I think will start to blossom if he finally gets to start. Nocioni can also replace Weak Sauce next year.

Why we may not do this:

Varejao is a stud. And let me say that I love Varejao. He is and has been my favorite player on the Cavs since he got here. But the simple fact remains, his value has never been higher, and we will not be an elite team again before he gets too old.

Sessions is a great backup point guard, but he is going to ask for a big raise next year, and I doubt we will give it to him, so it makes sense that we move him when his value is high.

Why Philly does this:

They get a really good backup big, who will provide them cover if any of their bigs go down, and also gives them another player with a lot of playoff experience. He is the perfect Doug Collins player. They also get a young forward to replace the loss of Turner.

Why LA does this:

They are desperate for a point guard, so that maybe they can salvage this season. He probably does not offer much of a defensive upgrade over Fisher. But he can certainly start, and run the offense for them, which will move Fisher into a off-the-bench role, where he should be at 37.

If we were looking into trading Andy I would like to target Utah. I'm thinking something like kanter or favors ands the golden state pick would be a perfect return for Andy and would be something I might be interested in. I don't know if Utah would have any interest though in that type of deal.

Does New Jersey have any picks left after the deal for Williams last year? I thought they gave up 4 or 5 picks altogether in that deal.

Varejao is turning into a pretty nice center for us and really connecting with Irving. He's exactly what we need right now to have KI learn how to run the pick and roll properly. I can't see us moving him this year.

Sessions? Yeah. Jamison? If only. Gibson? Maybe.

After much thought and deliberation and time invested reading these post and suggestions and believe Cleveland is still a clear frontrunner in obtaining this guy.

I also think the way things are developing. keeping andy will attract a very attractive free agent by the name of contender much sooner than people expect.

Andys contract is the big issue here. It makes it very easy for most teams to take on but makes it extremely difficult for the Cavs to trade. What players are going to be found to replace what Andy brings for the price we are paying him? I think this is why we have yet to part with him.
