Yeah see what is interesting is that nobody has ever had to tell me anything. I just always thought that was considered common sense...

What do I know? Amirite?

Oh, you were told, you just don't remember. Every day in school they told you who to obey and who not to obey, who to trust and who not to trust.

But not everyone is as fortunate as you are. People get killed during routine traffic stops. Does someone that ran a stop sign forfeit their life? If only they had more common sense, right?

I am fortunate because I choose not to break the law?

Thanks... I guess...

They don't all get trials. Many of them are never formally charged by the DA because they work so closely together with the local PDs.

Ok....I'd say it's the strongest cases that generally do get charged, but I see your point.

Most of these incidents happen in urban areas, Democrat controlled and often majority black. The mayors, and very often the Prosecutors, are elected by that black majority.

So what exactly do you expect to be done? BTW, I think this is actually a legitimate issue. I think we have to get into details to actually consider the issue intelligently.

A real Patriot behind a bunch of frauds

This is baiting and it's ignorant (above all else).

It's 2017 and black people still face injustice in this country. Let's call it what it is. To deny that is just downright ignorance.

They respect the military. They don't respect the inequality. In fact, African Americans fighting for equality is what truly makes them patriots in my eyes. Parading a flag is all well and good. Saluting during an anthem is a symbol. Actually doing something to advance the country toward its ideals is what makes a patriot, IMO.

The system has a lot of problems as currently constructed. THAT is what they are protesting. Not an anthem, not a flag/piece of fabric, and definitely not the military.

The system is stacked in the favor of minorities in 2017.

In that case they should go to a memorial day service and take a knee during the national anthem. See how that goes over since they aren't protesting the military.

@MediumBaller - To be clear: in disagreeing with my post, you're disagreeing with the following principles:
  • African Americans face injustices in the United States
  • Actions that advance the country toward its ideals of equality for every man is what defines a true patriot
  • African Americans are protesting the injustices and inequality
It's a pretty telling statement via a simple disagree.

Wow. If you truly believe this crap, you're too far gone to even warrant discussing this further.

The system is stacked in favor of minorities and they're protesting the military. Just... wow.

Cool.

I disagree that the system is the problem. There's nothing wrong with the system. The problem is the people operating it.

By system I am talking college and hiring laws.

My big question this year, what are the protesting? What do they want? Why sit/kneel during the anthem?
What are the wanting out of this?
Can you answer me that?

You would still be wrong. Laws mandating hiring and admission quotas for minorities do little more than to create animosity toward those groups and continue driving a wedge between people of different races.

But I'm pretty sure that was the point of the laws to begin with. It's much better for the government if people are too busy fighting with each other than for everyone to wake up one day and unite against them.

All of you people asking these super basic questions,

Why don't you do some research on your own and come to your own conclusions before running to RCF (of all places) to ask for answers that you'll simply argue against if you don't like.

This whole situation is very interesting to me, and I agree with what you said here. As a white male who has the system leaning my way, I am sincerely curious about what kneeling or sitting does to advance the country, or to make the steps towards fixing the injustice. I'm curious, for example, if every single player took a knee yesterday, what that would solve besides making the players feel like they're sticking it to Trump, which isn't what the message has been for the last year.

It's screamed down everyone's throats that this isn't a flag/military/national anthem protest, so why is this the biggest and seemingly only way the players are trying to get a message across? All it's doing it seems is mixing messages because you have players like Marshawn Lynch who won't answer why he sits, and 25% of the league kneeling yesterday to go against Trump. So instead of splitting half the country and making the situation 95% about whether it disrespects the flag, why is this the option of choice for the players? And is it really solving or pushing forward the real message? Again, I have no say in any of this. I'm a white male. But I feel like if some of this was more clear, it would be easier for some to understand if they were able to look past the flag. Thanks in advance to any appropriate replies.

Referring to me? I have done research. I understood Kaep, then he realized he was wrong and said he'd quit protesting. Now, all these new guys are doing it. None of them explain why, other than "equality". Who are they targeting to change
