Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Seven Five on Netflix is worth a watch. The doc tells the story of corrupt New York cop Michael Dowd who basically robbed drug dealers, ran drugs, and provided protection to other criminals. His beat was one of the most dangerous in NYC. He gets deep into the game. It was a fascinating watch.

8/10

Movir starring brad pitt (ben Kingsley appears in) produced by The Big Short guys goes straight to Netflix..

Industries are changing.

The Great Wall 4/10

The visuals were good, but everything from the plot to the acting to the writing was painful. Also have no idea what was going on with Matt Damon's accent. I don't know why the guy that has done Good Will Hunting and the Jason Bourne movies ever agreed to be in this.

The Alien Covenant reviews on IMDB do not seem good. I am worried..

It is currently at 80% on Rotten Tomatoes and most of the top critics like it.

The consensus is that it is a gorgeously shot hybrid of the thoughtful sci-fi of Prometheus (I think it is wrongly derided) and a Hammer Films horror picture.

I think they gave him alot of money.

Alien Covenant 8/10

Does a really good job of explaining how Prometheus fits in and answers some of its criticisms. Fassbender is amazing. Doesnt really have the suspense of alien or aliens though

Fassbender is great. Does seem like a somewhat watered down version of Alien, and really predictable.

It answers the Prometheus questions....but in a really bizarre way. I am not a lover of the Alien franchise like with Star Wars, so I don't care that much about the lore and mythology of Alien. But....Scott made some weird decisions about the mythology. Like, really weird.

I think it wasnt meant to be this way early on but he got infatuated with fassbenders portrayal of david that it influenced how he wanted to proceed

How terrible does Danny McBride and James Franco die in it? (Not a spoiler since I don't know if they actually die, I only assume)

McBride .. well..

Franco dies in the first 30 seconds of the movie

Alien Covenant was great.

8/10

Really liked that it answered my questions, even though I agree with Colonel...not in the way I expected, and not sure the origins of the Xenomorph lived up to what it could have been. Still, it was impossible to fulfill those expectations, and I have to say the film is about as dark as you'd expect. I was satisfied overall by both the answers and the bloodletting.

Still leaves a few questions. Also, if I had one major complaint it's that the movie was definitely predictable. Like, to the extreme. They try to fit this twist into the final act but you see it coming before the final act even begins. Scott had to know it was obvious and if it was going to be that obvious why not find another way?

I am of course talking about the Walter/David switcheroo. Did anybody not see that coming?

It was okay.. worth seeing.. 7/10.. and FWIW, I'm about as big of an Alien fan as you'll find.

I shall watch it in theater then. Another exercise for @gourimoko and other alien fans. Rank all the aliens universe movies from best to worst (AVP is included).
