Anyone seeing IT this weekend? One disappointment from the reviews is that they aren't using the same iterations of Pennywise as a monster as they did in the books.

Hopefully they'll skip the mid-teen gang bang also....

Saw IT. Have read the book 5-7 times and have watched the original miniseries more times than that. So take this with a grain of salt, but...

7/10. Decent movie but I was disappointed. Worth a watch, but didn't live up to the hype for me.

IT

I'd go 7/10 as well. But, I liked it. I wasn't disappointed at all. It was about what I expected it.

I liked how at the end during the typical horror movie action sequence, where the monster is no longer scary, it made sense and kind of fit with the theme of the movie. The kids weren't scared anymore, and neither were we, and the whole point of It is he feeds off of fear. So it didn't feel like a letdown when they were beating the shit out of him and he had to scurry away like a little bitch. :chuckle:

The cops I know love it- it reminds them of the stupid stuff they do to each other. Por exemplos, when a family member of mine joined a local dept, because he was on the smaller size in stature (think shorter than Mugsy Bogues but taller than Jigo) the other officers on 3rd went out on garbage night, collected broken toys, and made him a ' playground' in the lobby of the police station. Even hung a sign in crayon for 'Officer Doug's Playground'. The locker room frivolity is something they recognize. Farva is the clueless jackass everyone has had to work with at some point. I'm not sure how you can't laugh at his total unawareness of his own idiocy. The humor isn't high brow or groundbreaking in any way but it is definitely bro humor and works. It's no Airplane or Royal Tanenbaums or Ace Ventura but it's amusing and certainly quotable.

It was great but I have a looooot to say about it at some point.

Looks like IT made a shit load of money. Part II is guaranteed.

Consider me fucking shocked.

Not a single person I work with or am friends with talked about it or really cared. It was a trailer in every movie I saw in July and August, and seemingly no one really cared.

I don't know, man. All the jump scares were predictable. The portrayal of the clown felt off. It was just ok.

Shocking number of people in theater didn't know there'd be a part two

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan The Director's Cut: 10.0/10.0

It is in the theaters for two days, SEP 10 and 13. Great on the big screen. @gourimoko

You notice a lot of things when the screen is big. Still the best Trek movie by a country mile. Also,

Spock still dies. But you notice how fucked up his face and hands got thanks to the radiation. Ouch.
