DC really botched their shit.
It’s a fucking mess.It's crazy....
With Ben Affleck, I thought they were making a major mistake, but he really pulled off a Miller-esque older Batman quite well. I was frankly shocked, but yeah, he did a great job in the role.
Henry Cavill, I was indifferent about when casted and wanted to see how he pulled off the role. As many know here, I'm a big fan of Chris Nolan, and I don't dislike Zack Snyder at all (I used to, but I get his work these days). So with that said, I really liked Man of Steel, and I generally liked BvS. Wasn't a huge fan of Justice League, but it was tolerable.
To me, losing both Cavill and Affleck pretty much ends any interest I had in the DCEU.
There's a random Joker movie that's not canonically linked into the other films, there's an AQUAMAN movie coming out (of all things), Suicide Squad seems to be pretty much canned until Harley Quinn and (guessing) Poison Ivy's movie comes out in Birds of Prey, which, again, without Batman, makes no fucking sense since they'll probably tie-in Batgirl, and just .. ugh.. It's just going to be dumb.
To me... DCEU is basically what Marvel films were right around the time of Ang Lee's HULK. Pretty much just a mess. Since Wonder Woman was successful, and they probably feel they've got something decent with Margot Robbie; my guess is that they won't reboot the entire universe -- but they should.

At least they won't have to pay millions to digitally remove a mustache again.
The main problem I see with the DC movie universe is that they just don't really have any compelling actors playing these parts, coupled with the fact that most DC characters tend to be mopey, unlikable assholes to begin with. Marvel, on the other hand, is casting charismatic, funny people and letting them have fun, which makes the movies monumentally more enjoyable.
Absolutely...they bring back Nolan & Bale and the money will roll in. And the movies will almost certainly be phenomenal.Personally, I think they should consider a soft-reboot by going back to Nolan and Bale and paying them what it costs to rework the previous DCEU centered around the previous Batman DC Universe... Make a low-budget film with Joseph Gordon Levitt's Nightwing and use that to cut costs for Batman related appearances with Robbie, etc.. Cut the horrible Leto Joker, and try to make the lower-budget Phoenix one work... mesh all the shit together Infinite Crisis style, lol..
Nolan, Bale, Robbie, Gadot, Levitt, Phoenix, Mamoa .. pick a Flash .. and go from there .. Bring in James Gunn to help with Nolan, and bring back Patty Jenkins.. Like, the shit isn't hard.. they could hire these people, it'll just cost money... I dunno why WB has been destroying the DC IP like they've been trying to save pennies on the dollar on actor salaries...
I think Nolan/Snyder wanted to go for a more serious set of films, pretty much in the spirit of the Nolan Batman trilogy. It's funny but, this all started with Warner Bros. telling Christian Bale to go fuck himself all because they didn't want to pay him what RDJ was making for Iron Man.
The way they handled that entire situation effectively forces Nolan out, since he's not going to work with the studio anymore out of allegiance to Bale... And you're now dealing with Zack Snyder exclusively in Nolan's role -- which is too big a role for Snyder, IMHO... That's what gets you a movie like MoS which, is very similar in tone, messaging and style to The Watchmen. In fact, most people who liked The Watchmen, liked MoS and BvS -- but -- most people didn't like The Watchmen. It was too brooding, with nowhere near enough comic relief (for most people) for a movie meant for general audiences and targeting blockbuster earnings...
If they'd never let go of Bale, they'd have kept Nolan. Batman would've continued on into a new trilogy, Nolan's DC universe would've been more like Frank Miller's and less like Alan Moore's; both very dark, but Miller's far more palatable to most people. That's one of the key tonal differences between Nolan, who I think is phenomenal, and Snyder, who I think is decent.
Now they move forward without anyone steering the ship and Gal Gadot as their lead actor, with the Wonder Woman franchise as their Iron Man....
Frankly, I don't think it'll work; and trying to rely on Gadot and Robbie as headliners seems like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

Yup.
They have the perfect Flash in Grant Gustin. Perfect way to use their successful TV shows to hype their films, and vice-versa, by bringing in Gustin, Benoit and Amell.
It looks like those idiots are making a Supergirl film and of course are ignoring the perfect Supergirl they have.
A Studio source said, about Cavill: "Superman is like James Bond. At a certain point you have to go with different actors."
Yeah, like no; only after that actor is too old and the franchise is already successful. This is Cavill and Affleck jumping from a sinking ship. That is on fire and covered in Wallaby shit.
