So it looks like we're trying to blow this thing up, and I can't stop playing with the Trade Machine...

So I decided to make a thread dedicated to potential ideas to help the franchise collect young talent. Here are a few ideas:

I agree that these aren't all perfect scenarios, but who else can we possibly target in deals? It's a struggle trying to find teams that would realistically take on Mo or Jamison's contracts.

I'm not sure why we need a thread devoted to this when we have the "Trade Rumors & Ideas" section already separated...

I really can't see the Kings giving up both Thompson and Caspi.

If Mo keeps up his play this past 4 games, Casspi and Thompson may not be enough for him. They may want to include a first or Greene to acquire Mo.

Mo is scoring a lot and getting a lot of assists, and that is a good thing. but my perception is that he is not playing better, just shouldering more load.

3 years ago, Mo Williams at this level would have been a top notch point guard, but with the influx of new very high quality pgs, he is in the 2nd tier. However, teams who dont have good point guards at all good really use him, since he can score a lot, gets assists, and tries every game. He can also compete against the top tier of pgs, and whenever we have played really good ones, he has basically matched them (Chris Paul, Tony Parker, Deron Williams).

One realistic scenario with Jamison could be with Utah.

Jamison
Jamario
For
Kirilenko (buyout)
Jeremy Evans
Jazz 2011 1st Round Pick

It is similar to what we gave up for Jamison, and Jeremy Evans is a young big that can get some playing time.

I think Spencer Hawes is a bitch, but if he could be toughened up and taught to play like a man, he could be a center that would excel offensively in a lineup with Varejao at the 4. Then go get O.J. Mayo and draft a wing. Teach them how to defend like animals, and you are all set.

Yes please. Not sure if Utah would do that though.

don't like the houston trade, other than that, i'd be okay with the rest

Depends on what Utah is looking for, adding Jamison could help them against the frontcourt depth of the Lakers. Plus, since we buyouy Kirilenko, he can resign with them after 30 days, ala Z.

Yeah, I could see them looking for front court depth, especially if Okur doesn't play well when he comes back. I just think they'd really try to find a deal for a cheaper option (for, say, $8-10M) plus expiring filler before going after Jamison. A Jamison trade would give them $46M in salary next year between just four front court players.

Plus they might not be able to re-sign AK47 next year depending on his value on the open market. They wouldn't have his bird rights anymore so the most they could offer is the MLE and if he passed they'd have a big hole at SF.

I've been thinking it may be better to try and obtain 2012 first rounders. Mainly due to the possible lockout, but also because the worst thing that can happen for the cavs is to get 1 great player then fail to add anymore top tier talent as that player is enough to get them 35 wins. The cavs need to build a big 3 through the draft over a few years
