I know it's probably been already posted, but...

Chris Sheridan: A source who has been in the know for years tells me that Joe Smith is keeping his fingers crossed that the Thunder do not find another trade for him now that he's back in Oklahoma City.

Smith, the source said, would like to do a buyout and then sign with the Boston Celtics as this season's version of P.J. Brown.

SAY IT AIN'T SO JOE!

Trade talks between the Blazers and Nets have continued into Wednesday night/Thursday morning, according to ESPN's Chad Ford.

The Blazers are reportedly insisting that the Nets include the 2011 first-round pick the Nets received from Golden State in the Marcus Williams trade in any deal for Vince Carter.

From reading this, it seems like the Nets might want to get this deal done more than the Blazers. And the Blazer are not totally comfortable with Carters contract so they want that pick. Just give it to them Nets ;), that would open up more things for us.

This may have been posted already:

Indeed Jefferson is available and the Cavs have talked to the Bucks about a number of players. At this point though, the word going through the league is the Bucks are probably going to hold on to him unless there's a deal with talent in it. They are still trying
to make the playoffs despite all their injuries and doing this deal would be a bad signal to send to their fan base, many of whom aren't real thrilled about the Mo Williams salary dump.

I wonder who else the Cavs have targeted on the Bucks. Charlie maybe?

If this is true the need for a trade sky rockets up about a 1000%

we can beat Boston because they lack a bench...Joe gives them exactly what they miss...we would still be able to beat them but he just makes them just that must tougher

I still to this day believe the only reason we didnt win a title last year was PJ freaking Brown

That's funny I thought everyone in Milwaukee was thrilled to get rid of Mo at the beginning of the year. Funny how things change once they realize what they had and lost...

I remember that. Everyone in Milwaukee was thrilled to get rid off Mo and his contract. I'm just glad they were nice enough to dump him on a team in the division. :)

From the ESPN article:

Straight-up? Chemistry aside ... that's a steal for the Cavs. Would Wally still seek a buyout after the trade (or rather, would it be possible)?
Most any team that Wally goes to will probably be interested in buying him out, not much sense in trying to integrate him into the team when he will only be there for a handful of weeks. Teams want Wally to save themselves money, buying him out (even for as little as a million under what he's going to make) makes sense in virtually every instance. I suppose if they were a rival they might not want to buy him out only to have him rejoin us, but are we really gonna be trading with a team that is a rival and would be affected by us resigning him this year? I see no realistic situation that Wally isn't bought out after a trade, it just makes sense for the other team, as long as Wally is willing to "lose" a million or two. Of course being in the playoffs will pay him back some of that, as well as whatever we'd sign him to.

I wonder how much Wally being bought out plays into our decisions? Is it considered tampering if Ferry inquires about it before doing a deal?

Well RJ is the player probably to watch out for now.

Tampering ? Prove it ! (quoting McDyess)

Actually, if Cavs got RJ, and in fact Wally returned, that would be sweet. We'd really add scoring to the back court and bench.

Can the MLE be used to resign Wally if he is cut loose by his new team ?

Anything new on Jefferson, sorry I'm out of the loop completely. I just got to a computer. I hear the Blazers aren't making a move now?

Doesn't look like Jefferson is happening unless the Bucks decide they don't want talent in return (not sure who we would give, JJ?... and we aren't doing that). Blazers are out of trade negotiations unless something really good comes up that they have to do (they pulled out at 11:30 ET).
