Is this LaFrentz (sp.) trading chip THAT much better than Wally's contract??? I thought one of the reasons we traded for him was the flexibility they'd have at the deadline with his contract?

On the RealGM board, someone mentioned that in phoenix the radio is reporting rumors of a J Rich for Wally being on the table. Kerr is upset with J Rich being arrested again, and the financial relief would be welcomed in phoenix. Barbosa is having an exceptional year, so they wouldn't be missing too much, Plus, alando tucker and dudley are both picking up some P.T in phoenix so there may be room for J Rich to be moved

Link?

Jason Richardson is just a small upgrade over Delonte(in scoring), they are nearly the same player except that Delonte is a better defender.

Absolutely do not desire

I'm not big on Richardson, and wouldn't really want him. But why are you comparing J Rich to Delonte? It's Wally we'd be trading. J Rich would provide much more scoring off the bench than Wally. Having said that, I still don't want him (and think we'll do better, i.e. Jefferson or Camby or someone).

Because we don't need two of the same player, where as someone like Richard Jefferson is a slasher complimentary scorer that Cleveland doesn't have.

Yes. Any team who trades for him is only responsible to pay 20% of his salary due to insurance payments. It's the best case scenario for teams trying to save money.

I would argue that in a system like ours revolving around LeBron, you can't get enough efficient scorers and outside shooters. That being said, if I have the choice between Richardson and Jefferson, I'd probably take Jefferson.

Just to get my opinion out there, J-Rich, if we got him, would probably need to start in order to be effective. That pushes Delonte to the bench - which imo - is a good thing for the Cavs. Delonte leading the second unit would be much better than Boobie coming in and ****ing up the offense.

Either way, I hope we land either Carter or Jefferson over J-Rich... IMHO.

The problem is that the only person who effectively drives it the hoop is Lebron, of course occasionally any player will do it. But no one besides Lebron and sometimes Sasha consistently drives it to the hoop. Jefferson would do that, Richardson wouldn't!

I would take RJ over J-Rich too. But I wouldn't be mad at J-Rich at all.

I am too lazy to look, but isn't he leading the league in 3P%? That would help out a ton, especially with Boobie sucking this year.

No where near: http://www.nba.com/statistics/player/3PointS.jsp?league=00&qualified=Y&season=22008

But he is a very good 3 pt shooter, but I'd much prefer a slasher than shooter like Jefferson.

(Jefferson is actually higher on that list, with only two less attempts)

Hmmm, that is interesting. I thought J-Rich was around 45% for some reason. Maybe he was earlier in the year. I didn't know RJ was shooting that good from 3 this year. It would be nice to get RJ, but I would settle for J-Rich too.

IMO, J-Rich is a far better player than Delonte on offense.

Not a huge jefferson fan, but then again i wasn't a huge mo fan either. Anytrade that makes bucks fans more bepressed is good for me.

Charlie V worries me though. He's too much like gooden and not just in his baldness

From the ESPN article:
Sources say the Bucks had discussions with the Cavs about a possible Jefferson-for-Wally Szczerbiak swap.

Straight-up? Chemistry aside ... that's a steal for the Cavs. Would Wally still seek a buyout after the trade (or rather, would it be possible)?
