Richard Jefferson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd be happy to get RJ, but we still dont fill that need a of a big man. Do you really think the bucks are going to help our future more then they already did? I dont think so.

Wonder what Ferry will do now that 3 of our guards are out until after the allstar break. Wally for RJ would definitely make most short-term sense now.

If we can just somehow get Joe Smith traded and bought out, him and RJ makes us the championship team.

The Bucks would bend over backwards to trade Jefferson's 3 year contract for Wally's 13 million expiring. They'd be elated and couldn't get a better offer from any other team.

RJ's only 28 and is having a pretty productive season. His scoring numbers are down a bit, but he's shooting the ball well. I'd take him without hesitation. Besides being a pretty good shooter and a decent defender, I've always liked his aggressive mentality on offense -- he attacks the basket and gets to the foul line a lot.

A big man should be our number one priority, but I wouldn't have any problems with getting RJ. With our two guards dropping like flies, it wouldn't hurt to bring in an All Star SG to fill the void. Plus, he's only 28, and he could definetly matchup with Kobe, Pierce, Lewis in a series. If we can't fulfill our frontcourt needs, RJ would be a good option to look at.

How would Delonte start over Richard Jefferson.. Jefferson is far better than Delonte. I don't care about Delonte knowing the system.

Plus Delonte off the bench would provide Gibson to play off the ball more. Delonte usually plays the point when him and Gib are on the court together. If Delonte started a solid portion of RJ's minutes would come with Gib at point.

I think the laker and the Magic games highlighted our need for a low post player. Obviously, Camby, Miller, Kaman, Amare, Bosh, now Chandler and a few others fit that bill but (a) not at any cost and (b) are they an improvement (e.g., Miller???). In other words, I don't see the CAVs forcing a deal (i.e., where we overpay). Under those circumstances a guy like RJ would be a nice fallback. He is an improvement over Wally and certainly a better option than Mike Miller and unlike VC or some of the high profile wing players would not cost us much other than an expiring.

I'd be happy to let RJ come here and take over the starting spot from Brother Red. As much as I love the guy and appreciate what he's done here as a starter we could really use him off the bench. He'd have free reign to go bananas if he wants and create all the offense for himself that he can. I'd love to have his prodction off the bench.

RJ for only Wally is not going to work. Forget about that. With RJ there you are already champions and remaining games don't need to be played. That will be first championship in Cavs history. You will have to pay for that. Wally + at least your first round pick

I don't really care too much about what you said, but that has to be one of the ugliest starting lineups I've ever seen.

Bucks should give us a 2nd rounder for taking that contract off their hands. Pretty dumb of Milwaukee management to think they had a chance to really compete this season anyway and trade away Yi, even if he is 35 years old and Simmons, who only had two years left on his deal.

Marc Stein was on ESPN and said Portland has showed interest in RJ. He said all they would basically have to give up is LaFrentz expiring. So uhhh Ferry. Wally, picks, Darnell(?) for RJ.

Precisely.. Nobody's giving up talent for Richard Jefferson, nobody. The best deal on the table besides ours is LaFrentz and Wally's contract (plus maybe a pick) is a superior deal, why would they go with Portland if their looking to dump as much salary as possible to sign Sessions and Villanueva (if that's even possible).

If Ferry wants Richard Jefferson, the Cavaliers will get him. My only concern is that Ferry doesn't want RJ, and I really cannot figure out why not (assuming the other option is to stand pat, or trade for a defensive big that can't score).

Camby, Miller, Amare, and Chandler are not low post players. Not in any sense. Camby is a help/weak-side defender who blocks shots and rebounds. He doesn't bang in the low post, he's not built for that at all. Miller is a shooting big man, not a low post player on either end. Amare is a slasher, pick and roll player, and a pick and pop player. He's turnover prone in the low post and for that reason is rarely used there offensively. Defensively, i think we're all aware he isn't a low post man. Chandler is more or less the same as camby, just younger and not quite as good. Probably a little more athletic, too.

Hmm, really? Rj can guard Bynum/Gasol/Howard/KG? Those are the guys we need to match up with better. Last time I checked, RJ was a wing player.
