Are you giving him the thumbs down because the trade's stupid?
Or it is because you don't find it feasible?
Because if it's the latter, you might have a point... If you just don't like the idea, perhaps I can give some perspective to getting Antawn and Rich Jefferson...
- 9-10 players deep? Check.
- 2 above average scorers? Check.
- 2 players with excellent shooting percentages? Check.
- 1 player with above-average defense? Check.
- 1 player that can control the game with scoring, or what I call another scoring threat for 30+? Check.
- 2 players with size? Check.
- 2 players who are capable of getting rebounds? Check.
Still not enough evidence? How about a rotation sample with these guys off the bench?
Starting the game:
Mo
West
James
Ben
Z
Obviously, the main tandem that brought us blow out games.
Halfway through the quarter:
Boobie for Mo
Jefferson for West
James
Antawn for Ben
Andy for Z
You replace Z's ability to hit shots with Antawn's... spreading the floor. Jefferson gives us size, but the ability to call out plays and handle the ball with Boobie and James. And he hits threes too. We still have a strong unit to crush the opponent with, in a slightly different way. But is that all?
The second quarter is a toughie, because LeBron sits and we start to struggle a bit, even with Mo picking it up for us. But what about the new firepower we get with these guys?
Second Quarter:
Mo
Delonte/Boobie
Jefferson
Jamison
Z
We have used Mo and Z in the way bolded above: bring in the guns so we have the threats to keep the lead
AND rest LeBron for 6 minutes. What happens now that we have two offensive threats in Jamison and Jefferson? More problems for the opponents. Maintaining a lead or keeping the advantage will have its benefits against strong opponents in the playoffs. Additionally, there is the ability to go offense for defense thanks to Jefferson. If Jamison can't defend, throw Andy back in. We have more ways to hurt the opponent.
Same thing in the third quarter.
Now this is if Jamison plays off the bench, something he proved he could do when winning in Dallas back in 2004. I'm sure Jefferson also couldn't care as much if he's winning a championship.
But to reverse that:
1st Quarter:
Mo
Jefferson
James
Antawn
Z
Halfway through quarter 1:
West for Mo
Boobie for Jefferson
James
Ben for Antawn
Andy for Z
Second Quarter:
Mo
Delonte
Jefferson
Antawn
Z
This rotation can be mixed and matched based on the team's needs and wants. The fact that Jamison and Jefferson are quality personalities, they can be worked with.

Now, on the other hand, can this be feasible? I don't know, but I'm just giving perspective to how these trades would impact us. Is it really that bad of a couple of deals? Hmm... I can't so no... (although I'm not sure if Wright/Snow would do it for Jamison...)
