Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
At this point, they have to make a Darth Vader movie. The story of Vader eradicating the Jedi.

Go ahead and make that shit rated R and take all of my money.

If this happened I would gladly pay $50+ for opening night tickets for that.

Where are you reading this?

It's all over the place, and as @macbdog pointed out, you can find it on Reddit/YouTube/etc.. Google it.. I never knew this was a thing, but apparently it is and was done intentionally in the film.

I've heard a lot of fan theories about episodes 7 and 8 that are just bonkers. Among them are that Jyn Erso was Rey's mother and that Mace Windu was actually Snoke. I really wouldn't put s lot of stock into many, if any, fan theories so far.

Finally got to see it today after not being able to go because of snow. I was so anxious to see it yesterday on my birthday and was super disappointed when I couldn't.

Wow, I was impressed. Worth the wait. It was a lot better than I expected. I feel like the movie really accomplished something. It didn't just exist for money making purposes. It took what people considered a major plot hole (Death Star having such a flaw), and remedied it in a beautiful way which only adds to the legend of the originals, when it is so easy for a new movie to only disgrace it.

Really well done. There are a couple questions I have that I may ask later, but I don't have any major complaints. I loved the tone and execution of it. The CGI was so flawless that I would have thought it was completely real if I didn't know better. Great movie for real Star Wars fans above anything, and that is the hardest thing in the world to accomplish.

Agreed, but apparently, if you watch a certain section of the film - the moment the Starkiller Base (or whatever) fires at the Hosnian system, then Finn literally hears the people screaming that are there... Apparently, there's no exposition for this in the movie (obviously), yet, people who pay attention to this section of the film seem to agree that's what's happening.

Personally, I've seen the movie 4 times and don't remember that; but I wasn't looking for it either.

I don't have a digital version of the film any longer since it's garbage, but I suppose I could download one and take a look...

Hold on, I'll pop my copy in and see.

So, after watching it...maybe. I took it as the people he was around were screaming as they saw the laser from Starkiller.

I just downloaded it to view it myself. I agree originally I thought the screaming was from a crowd nearby but..

At 1h:10m it's very obvious, I think.

The voices come in, and Finn hears them and is startled and looks up; doesn't look at any crowds, and the two dudes he's with have no reaction. There's no one else really around him, in fact, isn't he rather isolated?

The scene with Han at the cantina, no one is screaming and Finn is apparently exhausted from running to meet him. You get the impression these people have no idea what is happening, let alone have a reason to scream in terror.

The screaming is the same sound as is heard by the crowds of people on the shot of the Hosnian system.

Finn then runs in and informs Han.. Originally I just thought it was because he knew their plans, but it appears there is more to it than that.

Fucking mystery boxes....

But yea, I gotta say, I'm pretty convinced this is the only way it makes sense, personally.. This makes sense also since it would be yet another borrowing from ANH (Obi-Wan Death Star scene where "he hears the sounds of a thousand voices crying out and suddenly being silenced."); just this time, instead of Finn saying what Obi-Wan did or something similar, you just hear what that sounds like through his contact with the Force.

It would also explain why he was able to feel his fellow stormtrooper die during the opening scene and why he last more than 5 seconds vs Kylo Ren at the end. Maybe slightly Force sensitive?

I never really knew if Finn was Force sensitive or not; I thought Abrams may have just left it up in the air. However, I do recall that I thought it was apparent in the opening scene of the movie. But after hearing others thoughts, I had my doubts.

Now in retrospect, here's my list of reasons Finn is almost certainly a Force sensitive:

1) He feels his friend die.
2) He rejects the programming / brainwashing of the Empire.
3) Kylo Ren almost assuredly senses something with Finn; and I think this would be very unlikely if Finn wasn't Force sensitive.
4) Ren wants Phasma to look into it.
5) Finn wields a lightsaber without killing himself.
6) Finn shows incredible "luck" in a universe where luck is the Force.
7) Finn's "chance" meeting with Poe and Rey.
8) Finn, in this scene, clearly hears the million cries, etc, before the people even die.
9) Finn clearly knows what happens in the Hosnian system even though no one else did.
10) Maz Kanata gives Finn a lightsaber and tells him to use it; given what we know of her, this is not simply by chance or coincidence -- she's telling him to start down a particular path.
11) At this point, it becomes fairly obvious, Finn wants to be a Jedi (see: Luke).
12) Finn seems pure of heart, even when everyone else around him is not (see: Luke).
13) Finn lands a blow on Kylo Ren during their dual; should be next to impossible for a non-Force user.

I mean... This scene was pretty obvious but I apparently missed it so I'm sure there's even more stuff.

So if we're weighing the options here; I'm not sure why one would assume he isn't Force sensitive? Or would be in anyway only marginally sensitive. It seems interesting though.. But if I had to guess, I'd think both Rey and Finn will be the beginning of a new Jedi Order.

From a purely practical standpoint; I also highly doubt they'll take Finn off of being a lightsaber user considering how much the actor enjoyed the part... Obviously he doesn't have Luke's lightsaber any longer, but, considering he'll meet up with Rey likely in the first act of the next movie, it shouldn't take him very long to get/build another one -- or to get one from Leia (much more likely?).

Would be nice to get a version that doesn't suck, though.
Won't argue with that, although ROTS is probably the best of the prequels.

I do think they'll visit the time period in between episodes 3 and 4 again. Obviously, the Han Solo film will, and I'll bet there is an Obi Wan movie in the works. Don't think we'll see too much Vader in the Han Solo one, but definite possibility in an Obi Wan movie.

Hopefully at some point we get a Shadows of the Empire film. Make that shit canon.
