god i'm so mad at myself. I saw on some foreign board that the Cavs offered him a 3 year 10 million dollar deal. Anyone else see this anywhere?

But Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry is far from being done. Sources indicate he will now target Maccabi Tel-Aviv point guard Sarunas Jasikevicius to be Hughes' backcourt mate.

Jasikevicius, 29, is one of the top players in Europe and wants to play in the NBA. He's a 3-point shooting threat who has the ability to score and control the tempo of the game. He was also the best man at Cavaliers' free-agent center Zydrunas Ilgauskas' wedding last summer.

I guess I missed the end of the article where it says that the Cavs are maybe close to a 4-year deal with big Z. Didn't say how much though.

Its looking like a deal with Z is averaging out at 10 million for 5-6 years. More years but for less dollars to allow flexiblity this summer. The dollars saved allows us to look at Haslem.

I've seen some people here type with all the "dat wuz kool" and "Did U see dis?" typing. Equally annoying in my book, maybe more.

Not really. He wants guarenteed minutes which he is assured to with Snow. Eric cannot withstand big minutes so Saruanas will be looking at 20+ minutes anyhow. He can play some spot minutes at the 2 guard as well. To me Saruanas is looking at 27-32 mpg as a Cavalier whether it be starting or not.

Dude this guy is legit, I've seen and heard many things about him, the Spurs wanted this guy but as a backup plan got Parker either they got a steal and a half in getting Parker or this guy is a bad mother#$%^# He can shoot the 3 and is a lethal slasher can you imagine how many looks he will be getting off of lebron and larry's slashing? Not to mention who are you going to double if you double lebron your leaving Z Hughes unattended or leaving a wide open Sarunas. This is going to be great trust me we need a banger like Haslem on the blocks to take some pressure off Z and to hit open buckets plus he runs the floor well.

Z - 8 million (which is possible because the new word on the streets is that Z will get a 5 or 6 year deal which will drive the price of his first year salary down)
Sarunas - 3 million
Haslem - 5 million
Total - 16 million

Hmm, if Z signs for 8 mill that would be great. Which he should because he owes us Sarunas for 3 mill would be easy as long as we signed Z. and Haslem, I don't know his asking price..or his game. I just know what his hair looks like

Z isn't giving us anything. The total in the first year goes down with more years added on to the total length of the contract.

We could sign Z to a 3 or 4 year deal but the first year salary would be pretty big.

By signing him to a 5 or 6 year deal, it makes the first year salary go down and alllows for flexibility to persure free agents, but the downside is the fact that its a 5 or 6 year deal for a 30 year old player.
