Saras dead set on Cavs?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Sarus dead set on Cavs?

Miami did want to use their MLE to add another quality player. The Cavs could once again swoop in like in the Hughes scenario, make Haslem a big offer and steal another FA from a conference rival.
Miami is in a tough spot with trying to resign Haslem, Jones while also attempting to add a MLE player while being limited to what they can pay Haslem.

The Cavs could pay Z $8-8.5 million in year 1 of his new contract. That's different then paying $8 million a year through the life of the contract. There can be 10.5% raises each season in a contract when resigning your own players according to new CBA rules. The hkey for the Cavs is keeping that 1st year of Z's contract as low as possible.

Re: Sarus dead set on Cavs?

hey, guys, it's my first post here, but I'm a long time reader. I was reading about Sarus on the real GM board, and came across some videos of him that I don't think have been posted here. they're in the link about 3 posts down.

http://forum-english.tzahevet.co.il/viewtopic.php?t=3

check out his teammate, #8 anthony parker too. I don't know why many people haven't heard of him. He was the Euroleague MVP (I'm pretty sure I read this, either for regular season or playoffs?) and looks pretty good in the highlights.

also, did anybody else know there is a www.jasikevicius.com  ?

Welcome aboard Slick. Thanks for the links dude. The guy can definately ball some. Hope to see you stick around mate.

Re: Sarus dead set on Cavs?

The Haslem thing could end up being a win win situation. If we really want him and they don't match great but if they do match then the Heat won't have the MLE to sign Rahim or the other free agents. Does anybody know what happens if they use the MLE before a deal is extended to Haslem? This could also be a ploy from the front office to keep them from using the MLE right off the bat which might allow us to swoop in and get someone else.

Hop in the cab mate...Let's put anotha shrimp on the bobby lol. forgot where I saw that from and Lebrons_Pippen it's...

"Down Undah"

But in all seriousness I've heard Aussies are some of the most friendly people you'll ever meet. With the exception of Andrew Bogut he is an arrogant jerk...

Re: Sarus dead set on Cavs?

All Aussies are friendly as hell mate except when you mess with Ilgauskas. Bogut is no more arrogant then the average baller. And what is a "Bobby". LOL. I assume you meant Barbie (as in BBQ). I hate schrimp, so I'll chuck it in the garbage.

No worries mate!

^Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) says it in Dumb and Dumber to the Austrian chick.
Jim Carrey- "Lovely accent you have there! New Jersey?"
Blond- "Austria..."
JC- "Austria! Well... throw anotha shrimp on the bah-by!"

I've seen some games by this guy, both from Euroleague and with his national team. This guy got skills, he knows the fundamentals, the thing that really counts in basketball, getting this guy in our roster would be a steal. He's a real underdog, maybe just what we need?
The star and the underdog, Lebron and Saras...

god i'm so mad at myself. I saw on some foreign board that the Cavs offered him a 3 year 10 million dollar deal. Anyone else see this anywhere?

Someone posted this on the official Cavs message board: http://www.sportime.gr
though my browser can't find or open it. Maybe yours can..

They say the contents are in Lithuanian or Russian but they had it (very) roughly translated by an online translation site and it discusses that point somehow, that Sarunas has been OFFERED a contract of 3 years, $10M but it hasn.t been accepted yet..

Well I also saw another article not sure where maybe here that said he doesn't like playing against his friends and stuff, well Z Marty and Varejao are like most if not all his friends in the NBA and he'd get the starting job, be with his buds, make what he wants to make and just be on a team on the uprise.

All signs point towards Saras signing here. Boston tried to lowball with a 3 yr 5 mil deal, half of what he asked for earlier. He recently asked for 3 yr 15, but it seems he will settle for 3 yr 10.

Other suitors:
Indiana: no guaranteed starting spot, or PT even
Portland: semi-guaranteed starting spot with Sebastian Telfair. But they're in the rebuilding process and have either zero or negative reputation
Boston: Lowballed, out of the mix now
Dallas: Possibility, but Jason Terry will not lose his starting job. Again, no PT.
Utah: They just drafted Deron Williams @ #3. They will start him.

So, that leaves:
Cleveland: We can probably guarantee a starting position to begin with. Snow won't mind coming off the bench. Get paid a little less, but does it really matter? He has his best friend to play with. The best player to play with. And a bunch of other talent on the team. The team stacked with the Lituanians rush to success, how happy would Saras be if that's the case?

Exactly we are the logical choice out of anyone else aforementioned on the list. It would be stupid for him to be so close with Z and turn down a chance to play with him.
