Favors is a shell of his former self.
Sacto would still have to waive someone.Posted in another thread, so might as well post it here...

Essentially this is a swap of Shumpert/McRae for Ricky Rubio with Rubio going to the Kings and Rudy Gay coming to the Cavs.
Every team gets what they want (Kings a PG, Cavs a wing, Wolves rid themselves of Rubio and get Shump).
Trade seems to work?

Correct...granted THAT team has an open roster spot.I don't even think McRae is necessary in that deal, he could just be moved to the Wolves or another team with cap space, right?
Love/Shump for Hayward/Favors
"It's something where we're all pretty keenly aware that it would help take some burden off of Kyrie [Irving] and LeBron [James] as our primary playmaker, so if we could get somebody else that could do it ... and it really doesn't even have to be a point guard; it's just we need playmaking," Griffin said, speaking to reporters for the first time since the Korver trade. -ESPN

Looking more and more like Griffin, Lue and LeBron are all comfortable with our current wing depth. Not sure I like that...
In that trade, I'd love to have them toss us drunkard Lawson as well. With Rubio on the way and Collison looking to be extended by them this summer, it would make sense that they'd move him.
So this:

And we toss in Cedi to Sacto and a future pick to Minny for eating Birdman's salary for us.
I actually think that trade makes sense for all teams involved...not saying they would all do it if given the chance, but it certainly is easy to find the positives for every team.
Minny frees up a lot of time at the 1 for Dunn/Jones/LaVine, adds in a good wing defender which they don't have, and they get a pick for their troubles.
Sacto gets a better/more handsome Spanish version of Rondo who played well with those guys last season for a free agent who will most certainly walk, one of the better stashed prospects being held at the position they just traded away (and one who is coming over next season), and a flyer in McRae.
Cavs get the "playmaker" Griff is asking for, the PG LeBron is asking for, gets rid of Birdman's money, and frees up another roster spot.
Don't think it will happen...but it certainly isn't the craziest trade machine I've ever seen where one side is clearly getting fucked over.
I think Griffin is thinking along the right lines here; Cavs need a wing who can handle the ball -- even if that doesn't translate to many assists, he's got to be able to create for himself and to some extent, create for others...
