Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So, Colin Trevorrow out as director of Episode 9.

Early speculation is that Rian Johnson will take over. Which hopefully means he nailed Episode 8.

Star Wars and the Cavs have basically had the same offseason.

You mean one ownership entity has an insatiable appetite to control every aspect of its product and is ruthlessly looking to expand their brand even if it means an unstable carousel of highly qualified caretakers of the enterprise coming and going every couple years?

And then there is Disney.

I dunno... it doesn't sound very good to me... I also question whether or not Johnson nailed Ep.8...

Ron Howard directing Han Solo was a great move; and I'm hoping that Disney makes a similar move and gets someone who can be trusted to respect the material. I wouldn't mind seeing Steven Spielberg direct a Star Wars film.

Spielberg was my first thought, although I don't think he'd ever do one, especially with Lucas out of the picture.

With Lucasfilm having problems with Gareth Edwards, Lord and Miller and now Trevorrow, I have a hard time seeing them going with any more "young" directors. It'll be an established name like a Howard or Spielberg.

I know the solution

I am just hoping Oscar Isaac doesn't demand a trade to Star Trek.

I think Spielberg would necessitate Lucas being brought on as a consultant again - as you said, there's just no way he'd do it otherwise, I think. And with that being said, personally, I'd have no problem with Lucas in a creative capacity, so long as he wasn't directing or writing the screenplay.

Lucas always had great ideas.

He ran Clone Wars as the executive producer, but not directing or writing, and it was amazing.

Seems like they're really fucking up Star Wars
