Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Calling my shot; Mike Pence will be president by 2018.

Edit: he'd likely be out too. This shit is fucking incredible.
Pence is toast. We found out yesterday he was flat out told that flynn couldnt be trusted, and they hired him/ kept him anyway.

Keep in mind that Pence was the head of the Trump transition team that ignored Michael Flynn's Russian ties and ignored Obama and Yates' warnings. He also lied to the country when he said "it was the first I heard of it" with respect to Flynn's ties to Russians.

Beat me to it..

But again, the question is: do Republicans care?

I don't see how you can have an FBI director investigating people for influencing an election when Comey himself took actions that influenced an election.
Obama should of fired Comey Last Year.

Right move even if its for the wrong reasons.

I didn't have any confidence in Comey doing anything competent with this Election probe anyways

Comeys actions during the election was deeply disturbing and an extraordinary test of our democracy itself.

No.

Which is funny, because The "Well, Trump didn't do it so..." takes we've seen on this board are made by the same people who went ballistic over the emails. As if Hilary knows how to set up a server.

The problem with "right move/wrong reasons" is that it stymies the FBI's potential to conduct their ongoing investigation, and throws that investigation to Congress; which has stated that it cannot conduct such an investigation because the committees don't have the necessary resources.

So now we either give up on the prospect of having a real investigation; have an investigation conducted by a Trump 'stooge;' or we appoint a special prosecutor.

If it turns out that Trump fired the Director for reasons relating to the investigation, as it seems may be the case given his legalese in the Comey letter; then that would be an impeachable offense in itself. It would amount to obstruction of justice, similar to Nixon's firing of Archibald Cox which was cited in the Articles of Impeachment against Nixon..

Yea, I'm sure Hilary Clinton couldnt have possibly had someone else, who did know how, set up a server.

Regardless, Comey should have been fired by Obama. Timing is awful for Trump, but better late than never.

Also, I don't know about anyone else; but if I knew I didn't do something, I'd give them access to whatever they want.

Funny how Wikileaks can't get the docs the American People they pretend to care about desperately need.

My point exactly. The same people going ballistic about the emails are the ones who won't accept Trump's potential involvement and knowledge but wanted Hilary's head on a platter.

The difference is one is treason.

The timing is what's so suspect.. Trump could have waited. He could've put this on the GOP leadership in Congress to ask for Comey's resignation.

This came out of left field and Sessions manufactured the reasoning over the past week.

Why not let the process unfold in a way that would not cast such suspicion on the President if Congress was initially behind the move?

The President (or his advisers at a minimum), surely understands, what it means for him to fire the man investigating him. That's why he insulated himself by saying that Comey told him on 3 separate occasions that he wasn't under investigation (which, in itself, would be inappropriate since Comey shouldn't be telling the President anything about such an ongoing investigation).

The Deputy AG just got confirmed two weeks ago. If you haven't already, read his letter to Trump as to why Comey needed to go. Its well reasoned.

Anyway, that's Trumps cover for why it happened right now. His AG recused himself from the situation, and his deputy AG was just confirmed, and it was on his advice he decides to let Comey go.

Btw this a no win situation here, unless it produced the exact results desired. That is, Come y finding evidence that Trump colluded with Russia and presenting it to Congress. Short of that, you guys would have been just as pissed, only 6 months from now. Comey would have been the Trump stooge who threw the election and then sandbagged the Russian investigation.

Tell me I'm wrong.

The new Deputy AG that Trump appointed after firing Sally Yates, who is on record saying Flynn was a blackmail risk (i.e. a potential threat to Trump's team)? That Deputy AG?

This stuff is like a kid writing his own excuse for why he wasn't in school one day.

Seeing people saying this is an impeachable offense. Is that true? Or is it only true if enough damning evidence is found to get Trump?
