The Transgender Issue

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We're not talking about dressing, though. We're talking about disrobing in the same room that your child is disrobing in.

It's easy to explain a cross-dresser, as you said.

It's not easy to explain why a grown ass man is getting naked in front of your daughter when "WOMEN" is written on the door.
I mean, disrobing?

If it was in a fenale bathroom they wouldn't even see anything.. It would just be "why is a guy in the girls room"..

There wouldn't really be an emotional thing here..

I use a lot of public bathrooms a lot.. These kids wouldn't give a shit less.. They would be curious at most, if they had any interest in anything other than themselves..

And you guys are operating under the impression that a five year old has the mentality of an adult without the knowledge.. They simply haven't learned that this is "wrong" or different.. They don't have any idea.. This is the same answer that's come when the question of same sex relations, or difference between race has actually been asked..

Kids are much, much more accepting because they just haven't learned.. They haven't learned to be offended or freaked out or racist or anything else.. All these uncomfortabilities are learned and hardened at a much older stage

What if your kid gets horny in the dressing room when he sees a naked woman?

What if that's the first naked woman he's seen?

If it were me at 5-6, I'd be latching onto porn mighty quick after I got that peek.

It would stay with me.

Lol

Idk man, I wasn't getting horny at six n and was wayy way uncomfortable with the opposite sex until much later.

I.can see how some little boys would intentionally be problematic pests, but I don't think this is a scenario that would manifest from the given, where a transgender woman enters a bathroom looking like a guy and privately goes to the bathroom

But why even invite this problem?

I guess the pertinent argument is: Why are we asking all of these questions in the first place?

Because .3% of the population wants to feel more comfortable in society.

Like, the argument against the NC laws is that a trans person who got a sex change shouldn't have to walk around in a ladies room looking like a dude...because they know that it would freak everyone out.

Yet, at the same time, they say that they should be allowed to use a men's room before they got the change, because that's where they feel comfortable.

It's a counterintuitive argument and opens up a can of worms without truly helping the well-being of anyone....

.3% is a lot more people that die every year from lack of healthcare, which you're debating in the other thread..

Feeling comfortable in society is pretty important. It's why you're currently arguing the position you are.

This.

Kids don't know any better until adults put their fucked up shit, excuse me, "societal norms" on them.

By the time your kid is old enough to disrobe in a gym bathroom, they're probably old enough to understand the transgender issue. Where else are they going to hypothetically see these naked people? In a regular bathroom, a woman who considers herself a man will use a stall (or if she's post-op she'll just use a urinal, so nothing to see there except for a dick, which is expected in a men's room). If it's a women's restroom, it's all stalls so there's really no issue, and I have to assume a man who considers himself a woman probably pees sitting down anyway.

Further, I'd assume most of these transgender people understand context, and probably aren't just going to get naked in front of your kid knowing that they have a dick in the room marked WOMEN.
Holy batman, that's a lot of assumptions.

Kid old enough- what? That isn't any type of guarantee there. Of which, when is "old enough"? You take your kids to church and then go to the gym to play whatever sport you want. They're "old enough" though? (I don't know why I used church as an example.. I guess I couldn't think of anything else quickly where they might be dressed up.

Bathrooms- Many bathrooms have stalls and then benches in the back for changing..

Re peeing- I was perusing some forum (I'm at work, bored, and googling) where there was a case about a gender identified woman peeing standing up. Like I said.. assumptions.

I did a quick search about young aged kids exposed to sex stuff and got this- https://www.psychologytoday.com/blo...red-the-effects-early-exposure-sexual-content
I feel like seeing a naked person of the opposite sex could be the "new" first step there. They see person of the opposite sex. They end up looking that up. They then see sex/porn/whatever and they're right into that whole deal.

No one is dying in this scenario, and no one is being disenfranchised.

Yes...it is why I'm arguing. It's a petty thing, but there are scenarios that could be problematic; scenarios that wouldn't exist without this movement.

It is an issue of comfort, and I don't think the comfort of the many should be sacrificed for the comfort of the few.

I'm not so by the numbers as you.

I'm just trying to see if there is a solution for both sides. One suggestion I've seen is that there could be signs on doors saying that there is a changing room or transgender individuals are able to use this restroom. That way it could prevent the children issue?

This doesn't make sense.

There are so few of these people so fuck their comfort.

And yet you act like every time you go to the bathroom you're going to see someone that makes you "uncomfortable?"

I say just implement a transgender bathroom and be done with it.

Should handicapped lose their parking spaces?

No, not fuck their comfort. As I said above, give them their own bathroom.

You're also saying fuck my comfort.

If you say it shouldn't matter to me, I'll ask again, why should it matter for them?

Should handicapped lose their parking spaces?

Straw man.

How does that make sense? A trans person can use a ladies' room just as effectively as they can use a men's room.

Some people physically can't walk from the back of the parking lot to get their groceries.

Saying that a handicapped parking space is simply a matter of comfort is insulting.

Do you see parallels in the argument against socialism and the one you're making?
