The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, that's what EA does. They buy up high profile studios and slowly run them into the ground by absorbing them into their toxic corporate culture. The prominent people who helped build the studios move on to start up new studios free of the EA "culture" and the quality of the games declines over time until EA finally shutters them. They've done this so many times already that it's almost always a kiss of death eventually when EA buys a studio like BioWare.
This is more relevant now than ever.

Everything i've read about Prey makes it seem like a game I would love. It has al ot of controversy on console. From what I hear there is noticeable input lag on the ps4 version, and the fact that it's listed as ps4 pro ready and there are no specific enhancements out of the box.

On pc though my hardware appears to be able to run this game at over 100 frames per second judging by the performance analysis by digital foundry. Apparently the inventory system is outstanding for pc.

The setting and atmosphere are really up my alley too and apparently the story is very strong. Right now i've gotten back into deus ex mankind divided. I got sidetracked by arkham knight, but I just finished that so mankind divided it is. Here are some other games in my backlog:

PC:
Rise of the tomb raider
Arkham Origins (just picked that up on sale)
Bayonetta
Transformers: Devestation
Both Darksider titles
Trine 2
Mad Max
Saints row the third
Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag
Metro: Last light redux
Bastion

ps4:
The last of us remastered
Bloodbourne

Wii-U

Mario 3d world
Donkey kong freeze
Zelda :twilight princess remaster

Kind of off topic, but I'd love to see a study done on the impact of alcohol on the quality of competitive shooter play. Because I swear, if I have a couple of drinks before I play a competitive shooter like TF2, I play so much better. There's a line, though, and I think it should be called the Brickman Line since I came up with this shit. Once you cross that line, though, your quality of play decreases dramatically.

Anyway, I'd like to see if there's actual science behind this or if it's just my alcoholism desperately trying to justify itself.

Watching some Quake Champions streams now that the NDA has been lifted. I'm super excited. Looks great, and seeing a ton of the old quake 2 pros streaming the game.

I'm pretty sure alcohol improves your precision up to a certain point to where there is a higher ge drop off. I believe they ban alcohol in your system for any type of target shooting because of this.

I played the balls off of quake 2, quake 3, unreal tournament and unreal tournament 2k4. I hope this game catches on because there are very few high skill cap, fast paced multiplayer games that are played now.

I just went and bought Dues Ex Mankind Divided. Looking forward to playing it, and hoping I'll like it as much as I liked Human Revolution and Metal Gear Solid 5.

I'm a little worried about the casual nature of today's gamer. A game like Quake can be extremely oppressive to people just learning. Getting 40-0d in a 1v1 is not that difficult against someone who has a clue. And I'm slightly concerned not enough people will be able to tough it out to learn.

I'm like 20 hours into the game. If you liked human revolution you will like this game. It's more of the same with better graphics.

I actually thought they were getting more competitive. E sports is kind of a new phenomenon. You have a bunch of younger players that log tons of time into counter strike, league of legends, dota, etc.

For whatever reason the fast paced high skill cap arena shooter just disappeared though in favor of more casual military shooters. Overwatch I'd say isn't a very high skill cap game, but it requires good team work to succeed.

The one on one went out the door once quake stopped being a thing.

It's also made by the people who made the Dishonored games, so it will probably be good. My only concern is that the PC port is probably going to be dog shit for a month before they get around to fixing it.
Funny how the pc version is the platform with the least amount of issues. This is a master class port.

Although it's sounding like pc was the lead platform.

Just a heads up to anyone interested...Remedy's Alan Wake will be pulled from sale soon due to an expired music license agreement that they were unable to renew. It's currently on sale for three bucks on Steam until Monday, so now's as good a time as any to grab it. It was a pretty cool survival horror game with some neat mechanics and a great setting.

The spin-off/sequel American Nightmare will not be impacted, although you can buy the bundle that includes both games for four dollars.

Loved Alan Wake. Awesome and different game

I am sorry but LoZ Breath of the Wild has this to face for Game of the Year. with Nioh and Nier Automobile. I feel PS5 (Persona five) is amazing. Get this game as soon as you can. It really has all American characters so no Lord Mar this is not a sexy Jap girl RPG it is so better than that. Lady Ann is my new crush.

Got NBA Playgrounds yesterday. Haven't got to play it yet but looks fun.
BTW, this is awesome. Definitely recommend to anyone who had fun with NBA Street/NBA Ballers/NBA Jam or any other NBA Arcade game over the years.
