The 100% was a cool sequence because it transitioned so quickly. I didn't have glasses but I made a light box. I tried to take a picture since I had a real dark filter but I didn't prepare so I couldn't match the proper size lens with the filters I had on hand. The lens that I had that fit was too wide to see anything.

Unfortunately lotta cloud cover here. Really an awesome event. I caught the 2017 one on a nice day in thr 98% zone.

Just saw totality with no cloud cover. No photos. You can view it safely with the naked eye.

It was pretty incredible.
you can view the totality with the naked eye, crazy how to the naked eye it looks like the full sun as soon as it slightly emerges. I thought it my phone was using AI to show the full sun. Back to the glasses.

We just went through totality for 3+ minutes. Seriously indescribable. Seems to move so quickly from the crescent moon phase into totality, and then everything just kind of stopped.

At least from where I was, you could see a glowing white ring around the moon, and then wispy white flares that almost looked like cotton candy. Pretty incredile

Yea, that had me perplexed.....but probably one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed in my life.

Anti-climatic in Chicago. The exterior garage lights came on because it got a tee bit darker, and the temp dropped about 10 degrees. Crushed a Too Turnt Tea so that was nice.

There was a big difference for 100% and what the Cleveland area got in 2017 and whatever we got in the 90's when I saw it as a kid.

I really wasn't buying the hype because I couldn't think of how it would be different from 2017. I didn't even try to get glasses.

It was like a transition to darker like you felt then there was a clear step in darkness, it wasn't gradual like I thought it would be. A step or leap is what it felt like. The step out didn't seem as dramatic but I think that's because that how our eye adjust.

I kind of feel the same in terms of not buying the hype, but I think it’s because cameras can’t accurate capture it compared to what you actually see with your eyes. There’s also that anticipation factor and eerie feeling that occurs that you aren’t going to get from watching it on TV.

Definitely would recommend people checking it out in the future if they have the chance. Will hopefully get to see another one.
