Trade Rumor(s)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If the Cavs were willing to let Delly go for ~$9M, why would they bring Rubio in at well over $13M? Even in today's new CBA, $13+ for a backup PG just seems insane to me.

Especially one that needs to dominate the ball to be useful. He's like a better rondo. Can't play off ball.

Because Rubio >> Delly

The Cavs need someone who can distribute. We have enough players who can play off the ball and stand in a corner.

I thought we wanted a playmaker?

We have like 10 shooters on this team who can play off the ball..... that is not our problem.

We do need a playmaker. But we still have lebron and kyrie who dominate the ball. We need a playmaker capable of playing off ball when those two are on the floor.

Maybe, but I think LBJ is looking for a break from handling the ball as much. Some of the most lethal sets we have are the cuts LBJ makes when Kyrie is handling the ball. I don't think LBJ minds giving up the ball, I do think it would be harder to pry the ball away from Kyrie than LBJ. :chuckle:

Nuggets fans reaction to Jameer Nelson trade rumors: https://www.reddit.com/r/denvernugg...eron_williams_and_jameer_nelson_in_cavaliers/

"Please god, take Jameer.

Just take him, you dont even have to give us anything back."

I get the feeling he's a very realistic target.

There's also a thread in which Nugs fans are begging their FO to buy him out. :chuckle:

I would love to somehow get Nelson and Nurkic. But I would want to keep Shump. So no idea how that can be worked out. Really wish we could use a TPE and players together.

There's no problem with that. You can fit both Nelson and Nurkic into existing exceptions. A trade where we send nothing back is technically legal:

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hcr4wut

A (technically set of simultaneous trades), trade where we send Anderson + Felder for Nurkic and then take Nelson into cap is also technically legal.

Denver will never do either of these trades. I'm just noting that they are allowed.

Sheesh.

Hey, if Bulls trade Butler and Wade seeks a buyout he could make, what, like 60% of his salary or so?

The interest between him and Cleveland was real, as confirmed by himself, LeBron, and many others, just there wasn't enough money.

Well making $15 million to play part of the season with the Bulls and then joining us is a hell of a lot more than making $2 million to play with us all season had he signed this past Summer...

That's actually.... not totally crazy?

I mean, it's crazy, but it's the sort of power move that you could see LBJ or Wade playing....

Not sure that the Bulls would play along though -- I mean, they are still currently the 8th seed.

60% of his salary this year....but he's got a player option next year for another 24 or whatever million. He's not getting that much money again. There's just no way he leaves all that on the table.
