Trade Rumor(s)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
60% of his salary this year....but he's got a player option next year for another 24 or whatever million. He's not getting that much money again. There's just no way he leaves all that on the table.

No way we get Wade can we give up that dream as this post said he is making money here and will stay for it. Unless he feels winning and playing with Bron is more important than money. Then forget about it and move on people. Heck who knows anymore with the Cavs for all we know we will wind up being shocked by some move we make.

Cavs could trade for Wade. He doesn't have to be bought out. If we send them assets, it's actually better for the Bulls.

Hmm how would it work though? I am not saying you are wrong I just do not see how we can get him with out giving up to much. I am intrigued now actually please explain.

We just need a certain amount of salary to go out. Shump/Frye/RJ gets it done.

I'm not really advocating getting Wade.. but... this is basically what such a deal would look like if we were to pursue it. The only reason the Bulls do this is because it's better than a buyout as Shump and Frye have trade value.

Yeah I see that but is it worth it for us to lose all them? Then have find replacements when we still need a back up PG... Or maybe Wade would be that? Smith is hurting us big time and maybe in a sense when Smith is back we make the trade and get two Bigs elsewhere it could work.

Wade can play the 1-3, so we wouldn't need a backup PG with Wade on the team.

I'm not sure we could replace Shump or Frye; but Wade makes RJ redundant. And with that said, Frye would never see the floor against GSW, and Shump .. just isn't really useful against the Warriors either. That's kind of the problem..

Not that Wade solves that problem, I don't really think he does. But I think Wade could help us during the regular season.

JR Smith won't be back prior to the Feb. 18th trade deadline. So, we won't be making any trades relevant to him coming back until the off-season or next year.

Great points. I have to agree here and add Wade and Bogut in whatever way and there is already a better team. I mean Korver can play the three so throwing Wade,Smith,Korver,LBJ,TT is a solid group if you are getting creative. We would still need maybe a PG and C player but they can be found come buy out time. I like the idea I really do and I want to see what comes of all this talk.

He's made it pretty clear the last few days that he wants to play on a team that can compete. I don't think he intends to spend the next year and a half missing the playoffs.

If the Bulls don't improve drastically and fast, I don't see him picking up that PO unless a trade is lined up.

Why are people still on the D-Wade wagon? The guy is ancient in NBA-years and he's among the highest-paid players in the league. With management taking a pretty hard stance on spending, does that seriously sound like a player we're going to pursue?

People need to forget about Wade and focus on scenarios that actually make sense.

Jameer Nelson is a very very very interesting name given his salary.

He can't defend but I think we have a better chance of appeasing LBJ with Jameer, having him try and have the team start trying ,simplifying the scheme, and grabbing a defensive big than we do of getting an impact defender/playmaker at the position.

Let's say Dallas plays hardball. They've told us they won't buy out d will or bogut and they have offers on the table from other teams

Cavs
Bogut
D will

Mavs
Shump
Frye
Birdman

Shump has been hot this year but inconstant. our need for a backup PG and a rim protector are more important. Shump has been pretty bad vs GS so moving him wouldn't hurt that much. Especially with JR back in a month. Risky but we need to fill these needs. Maybe we could sign Lance to make up for some of shumps defense.

Frye is added because he's been garbage and we need his salary to complete this deal.

D will would finally give us a backup play maker who can get his own shot without relying on lebron.

Bogut is still one of the best paint defenders in the league, 3rd in the nba in DRPM and can still catch the occasional lob.

DALLAS
NBA trade talks have been underway for some time, and now Dallas Mavericks point guard Deron Williams is rumored to be headed to the world champion Cleveland Cavaliers in a possible trade for Iman Shumpert.

At least that’s the word on the streets.

The only problem: The Mavs claim they’re not interesting in trading Williams, who also isn’t interested in a buyout.

Yes, the Mavs like Shumpert, who, counting this season, is owed $31 million over the next two seasons and has a player option for the 2018-19 campaign. And yes, the Cavs do need a veteran to back up All-Star point gyard Kyrie Irving.

The Mavs have a glut in the backcourt where Yogi Ferrell is a true point guard, and Seth Curry, Devin Harris, J.J. Barea and Williams all have playmaking skills. If the Mavs believe a backcourt of Ferrell and Curry is their future, they conceivably could be considering a package to trade Williams.

But if the Mavs are serious about wanting to qualify for the playoffs this season, they may think their best chance is to keep the veteran Williams. Under that line of thinking, they also can find quality playing time for Curry and Ferrell.

The NBA trade deadline isn’t until Feb. 23. So the Mavs have plenty of time before they have to show their hand on whether Williams stays or goes.

Yeah I'm sure Mark Cuban would LOVE for this to be true. Dallas would have made this deal yesterday.

But Griffin isn't gonna get robbed like that. I wouldn't trade Shump for a PG, and certainly not Deron Williams. Rubio is much more valuable if we were going to get rid of Shumpert. But I also don't see how you can realistically get rid of Shumpert right now unless it's a can't-miss deal. He's playing great, and if he continues, he will be a huge boost to the 2nd unit when JR comes back.

Right now we're trotting out Liggins/Kay/McRae with LBJ, Korver, RJ and Frye.. 1defender, 1 playmaker, 1 shooter...

What if by playoff time were trotting out.
Lance, Shump, Korver, Bron, Frye?

3 plus defenders, 3 shooters, 2.5 playmakers.....

I'm not particularly enamored with D Will either; I feel he's been on a steady decline for the last 3 years, however, he wouldn't be a bad backup PG. I've always liked Rubio..... Gets lots of steals and assists, but oft-injured and poor FG%.
